takes a few minutes. Join Now Hi, Right, I'm stumped. And here's why: We have three offices linked by IPsec tunnels through Cisco Pix's. error 1311 spss The tunnels work fine and all ports are open between the offices. error 1311 adobe reader Each office is on a 2003 R2 domain, and we've established two-way transitive forest trusts between them. The problem system error 1311 is that when establishing a two way trust with domain 1, the other domains won't trust it. They establish two way trusts at both sites, but cannot vaildate the trust, so it error 1311 source not found fails. The error provided is: The secure channel reset failed with error 1311. There are no logon servers available to service the logon request. The outgoing trust has been verified. It is in place and active. Domain 1 is the oldest site, and has two DC's. One on 2003 standard and one R2. The schema is R2 (obviously), and everything else functions fine on

the network. The clocks on all servers are synched, DNS works like a charm within and between domains, the newer DC (R2) has the pdc emulator and other roles. The older DC just provides backup AD and the DHCP server role. Domains 2 and 3 trust each other like husband and wife. Better, in fact. Any ideas? I would check DNS again and maybe run some diag utils like dcdiag (run dcdiag /? for DNS specific testes) and netdiag. How is WINS configured? I believe that NetBios resolution is still required for Domain trusts to be validated. A way to test this would be to modify the LMHost files on the servers involved and see if it works. Not a fix but certainly a

All DNS tests are fine, as are DCDIAGs on both sides. When creating the trust on admt.olddomain.local I got the following error The incoming trust has been verified. It is in place and active. The verification of the outgoing trust failed with the following error(s): The trust password verification test was inconclusive. A secure channel reset will be attempted. The secure channel reset failed with error 1311: There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. The trusts were however created, incoming and outgoing, in both domains. Validating the trust (both ways) on newdc.newdomain.com comes back as verified successfully. However when I attempt to validate the trust from server admt.olddomain.local I get the following error: The secure channel (SC) reset on Active Directory Domain Controller \dc1.olddomain.local of domain olddomain.local to domain newdomain.com failed with error: There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. The incoming trust was successfully validated. I can see the issue here, even though I'm performing the validation from admt.olddomain.local it actually attempts to check the secure channel from dc1.olddomain.local

I don't have access to the cisco switch right now so I'm leaning towards a firewall problem but could be wrong here. My third domain controller can see files being shared on the first domain controller and second if I domain trust error were to map a drive or just net share \\server\folder but I need to give a user access to that folder. The user is on the third domain controller but the files that need to be accessed are on the first domain controller. So when I setup a trust on the first domain controller it says the domain cannot be found...vice versa if I setup a trust on the third domain controller to the first says the same.. what am I missing here? Somethings screwy with the network though.. when I remote desktop in I can only see two domain controllers, to access the third one I have to remote into one server, then rdp into the other. Solved Verify ACtive Directory Trusts Posted on 2010-02-16 Active Directory 1 Verified Solution 9 Comments 3,163 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-09 I have setup a trust, between two domains. domainA.com = W2K3 corp.domainB.local =W2K8 However when I try to validate the trusts on the W2K8 server I get a message that says: The outgoing trust was successfully validated. The secure channel (SC) reset on Active Directory Domain Controller \\servername.domainA.com of domain DomainA.com to domain CORP.DomainB.INTERNAL failed with error: There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. So basically the error says no Domain controller is availbe in my W2K3 domain. Howerver I was able to use a PC that is joined into domain.com and was able to log in corp.domain.internal without issue, but I am not sure why I am getting the error about no DC available. When I check the trusts from the domain.com which is a 2003 domain both the incoming and outgoing test successful. 2K8 trust is External two way domain wide w/forest auth. 2k3 trust is external trust two way non transitive The other question I have is that when I try to add users from DomianA into groups in corp.domainb.internal I can't find my domainA users. When I look under ForeignSecurityPrincipals there are no users there, and when I search for users
