FSX Installation Error Started by mgh , Nov 27 2013 12:55 PM Please log in to reply 4 replies to this topic #1 mgh mgh Member - 8,000+ Members 8,518 posts Posted 27 November 2013 - 12:55 PM I'mtrying to reinstall FSX. Part way through the process I get an Error 1311 Source file not found... D2Feat~1.cab It is on the DVD and I can open it and see the individual files in it - all with long meaningless names. Obviously I've cleaned the DVD and re-tried several times without success. I also copied the files from the FSX DVD to my hard drive and tried from there but got the same error. Any ideas? 0 Gerry Howard Back to top Help AVSIM continue to serve you! Please donate today! #2 Jim Young Jim Young Forums Administrator Administrators 14,943 posts Posted 27 November 2013 - 01:00 PM Do you have any anti-virus programs running? Forum Flight Simulator X General Search Installation Problem Author Message frenchieak2TraineeJoined: Jan 15, 2007Posts: 16Location: Alaska Posted: Wed Apr 25, 2007 2:23 am I recently uninstalled FSX and now I want to re-install it. I have tried a few times to reinstall it and now I need some help. Every time I put in the second disk, about ten seconds in it says, word for word, "Microsoft Flight http://www.avsim.com/topic/427392-fsx-installation-error/ Simulator X Error Error 1311.Source file not found: I:\D2Feat~1.cab. Verify that the file exists and you can access it. Retry Cancel Every time I press Retry, it comes back up. Every time I press Cancel, it rolls back the whole installation which takes about as much time as installing it in the first place. If I go to My Documents and try to access it, it says https://forum.flyawaysimulation.com/forum/topic/27638/installation-problem/ it could not find it. If you have any information that could solve this problem, thanks in advance. This error indicates that the installer is unable to access the necessary files from the CD-ROM drive. Here are some tips that may help: 1. Update Windows 2. Empty your Recycle bin and temporary Internet files in your browser. 3. clean disk 4. Update your DVD drive driver 5. Install with Windows in Safe Mode. Just some ideas, I'm no expert but no one else has answered your post. November 24, 2010 I have tried a number of times to install flight simulator X deluxe onto my desktop - firstly when running http://www.windowshelpzone.com/thread/error-1311-when-trying-to-install-flight-simulator-x-deluxe-onto-windows-vista-windows-7-pc..html windows vista and now windows 7. Error 1311. Source file not found:E:\D2Feat~1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. I have tried installing with a clean boot andas administrator. I have tried copying all files from disks onto desktop (though this proved challenging aswhen going through explorer could only find readme files so had to do this through another pc)and error 1311 installing. Always the same error message. Contacted microsoft who promised to send out other uncoorupted disks which never arrived so sent back to vendor and had replacements sent out - still the same error when loading. Help ple video help | post reply | read more comments (1 comment)Beckhamv123 04/01/14,08:32It gave me the same error. But I figured that the file is in file not found disc 2 not in disc 1 so I copied the disc 1 file into the desktop in a folder and copied the files in disc 2 and I paste it in the same folder where I have paste the disc 1 file. Click setup and it should work :) Cannot install Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition on Windows 8 Pro.
