I am getting the error "Error Initializing Physx" and tells me to go download the latest physic and nvidia drivers. Well I did that, played with it some, kept getting the same error. I did get the Dragon Age to run on Win7 (have a dual xp pro/win7 boot setup, but mainly use xp pro still). So I have finally decided to get serious about getting Dragon Age to run on my xp install. So here Is what I did. I went into add/remove programs and removed everything that said nvidia on it. Restarted, ran CCleaner both using the cleaner part and the registry fixer. Then went to nvidia and downloaded their latest driver (195.62) for my EVGA 9800GT card, and the latest Physx driver (9.09.0814). Installed the graphics card driver, restrated, ran CCleaner again, then tried to install the Physx. That is when I started getting the "Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C:\Windows\Installer\WISA5B5A16D277A476b8f621029a2f23072_8_01_18.MSI". i have tried restarting a couple times, and running CCleaner again. I tried finding the MSI file, but its not there. So I turned to google. I didn't really find anything to help. A lot of stuff dealing with issues with ATI cards and Physx.... Solved: Error message when installing Nvidia Physx Discussion in 'All Other Software' started by chrisb1978march, Jan 25, 2009. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. I'm updating my Nvidia Physx driver to the 9.01.... (i forget the rest) It installs all the http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/error-1316-while-installing-physx.138729/ way up to a certain point until I get the following error message:- Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C:\Windows\Installer\WISA5B5A16D277A476b8f621029a2f23072_8_01_18.MSI So I click ok and it carries on with the install and says it has completed successfully. Upon checking the Nvidia control panel it shows the new driver. I have tried uninstalling the driver, used driversweeper Nvidia File Remover but I https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-error-message-when-installing-nvidia-physx.794155/ still get this same error message when I try installing it. I have recently used Acronis True Image to restore my system, so I was wondering if this problem may relate to that. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance chrisb1978march, Jan 25, 2009 #1 chrisb1978march Thread Starter Joined: Sep 20, 2007 Messages: 175 I have a feeling that this problem occured because of the re-reinstall i did from Acronis True Image 2009, as I found there to be a number of other problems with removing software or installing new software. I have since done a complete recovery from scratch and have not had this problem since, I will at some point create another back-up and try re-installing on a seperate hard drive and see if I get this error again. chrisb1978march, Feb 6, 2009 #2 This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies.
