1. C:\ drive is OS Windows 7 (64); 2. VM workstation is installed on D:\ (my data drive); 3. All VM clients are installed on E:\ drive https://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004331 (specially used for VMWare) But I had D:\ drive corrupted and all data are lost. When I tried to reinstall VM workstation, I need to remove the pervious installation first and then there is an error: “Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the C:\windows\Installer\vmare workstation.msi” and I could not continue.
