over the top of LF 9.0.x. During the installation routine, I get the error message: "Error 1316. The specified account error 1316 account already exists uninstall already exists." My only option is to click an OK button. When I click that button, I receive a follow up error message: "Installation failed. The installation will be rolled back in the background."
Installshield Error 1316 The Specified Account Already Exists
I have tried uninstall LF 9.0, rebooting the machine, and reinstalling LF Client 9.2 and get the same error every time. I have tried installing just the client, the client with Admin Console, the CLient with Snapshot, Scanning and every other possible combination - all of these produce the same error. Any suggestions on how I might resolve this? Thanks! 0 0 Post Link Replies Sort by: Most popular Most error 1316 the specified account already exists vmware popular Oldest to newest Newest to oldest replied on January 17, 2015 This error generally indicates that something related to installation states in general is in flux. I'd suggest try running the Microsoft installation cleanup utility:http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/enand see if that helps. If not, you'll want to talk to your reseller about opening a support case. 3 0 Post Link replied on January 18, 2015 Hi Justin. Thanks for your input. I ended up uninstalling LF manually (deleting application files, Common Files, AppData files, etc and removing all related registry keys). I then rebooted the machine and tried the LF 9.2 install routine again. That took care of the issue. LF 9.2 is now up and running with all of the components (scanning, Admin Console, Snapshot, PhotoDocs, etc.). We're good to go. Thanks again for the response. 0 0 Post Link Be the first to start a discussion, ask a question, or create a checklist . Each time I try I get this message (in https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/69676/Error-1316-The-specified-account-already-exists-when-installing-LF-92 full): Error 1316.A network error occured while attempting to read from the file C:\\WINDOWS\Installer\AcroRead.msi Then the installation fails. First of all, what does this mean and how can I resolve it? I have tried also to remove my existing version of Adober Reader and that failed also. I now have no Adobe Reader that I can use. Re: Error 1316 - Network Error ~graffiti Apr 20, 2009 10:49 AM (in response to (Andrew_Erroch)) Normally, this is an issue with the installer files. They can be cleaned up by installing and running the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility and removing any instances of Reader then reinstalling Reader. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 4. How can a windows installer output this error code? I'm afraid there isn't much documentation about it. We previously released a product consisting of a single account already exists msi package, and now we are preparing an upgrade which consists of a wix bundle containing a new version of this msi package. The product code and filename between the original msi package and the update haven't changed. Edit: The msi package for now doesn't support upgrade. When the user needs to upgrade (whenever it's a major upgrade, minor upgrade or small update), he must first manually uninstall the previous package... Edit 2: I just removed the references to util extension for compilation and the installer seems to work fine... I still need to fully test it though. wix windows-installer bundle upgrade share|improve this question edited Jun 23 '15 at 11:41 asked Jun 22 '15 at 8:37 Brainless 5061318 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote An upgrade MSI requires the MSI to have a new ProductCode, an incremented ProductVersion (in the first 3 fields) and the same UpgradeCode. So it's not clear to me that you're actually getting an upgrade, depending on what the Burn part thinks you are doing. It can't do an upgrade because you h
the errorĀ "The specified account already exists". As far as we can tell, this is not a bug within Canopy's installer but rather with .msi installers in general, where certain registry keys can become corrupted during an install or uninstall. Microsoft recommends running their fix-up utility and then reattempt the installation. We have found that this has resolved the issue in the few cases we've encountered. http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/en Was this article helpful? 1 out of 1 found this helpful Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google+ Have more questions?
