Uninstall Error 1316
Code 1316 During Steam Repair When I start my computer and I don't have internet access Steam asks if I want to start offline. I

say yes and then I get an error message saying it hasn't got network access (duh) or something like that and then shuts down so I can't play unless I have internet access. When I am connected to the internet

and Steam has started if I hover my mouse on the Steam icon in the notification area it always says I am 'offline' (there is a tick next to the offline line). Now I am obviously not offline because I can download games and steam does it's online check when I want to play something. So I download the install file and select the repair option and when I run it I get an error message saying 'Error 1316. A network error install error 1603 occurred attempting to read from the file C:\.......SteamInstall(1).msi' Now that is my hard drive so what is going on? I haven't attempted to delete and reinstall Steam yet as that seems a bit extreme. A bit like using a chainsaw to remove a splinter and there is always the chance it won't install. The Fix Steam worked and I got Steam to reinstall but when I click on the Steam icon in the notifications area it still has a tick next to the Offline line but it is not Offline as I am downloading MW3 so I assume the original problem of not being able to play offline still exists. I will try it out when I have time ???????? Will not let me "Repair" through reinstall as http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/864974276807130149/ well. Hi. I have been trying to get World in Conflict to work for a day and a half. I decided to try and run Steam in Offline Mode. Now when I try and run Steam it says: "Could not connect to Steam network. This could be due to a problem with your Internet connection, or with the Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info."I have tried installing steam again and choosing "Repair" but it also cannot connect to the network. It says: "Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C:\Users\Michal\Downloads\SteamInstall_English.msi." I just read that there were supposed to be some outages today but that it should not affect games and someone posted that they should be up now.Any suggestions? During the installation routine, I get the error message: "Error 1316. The specified account already exists." My only option is to click an OK button. When error 1316 I click that button, I receive a follow up error message: "Installation failed. The installation will be rolled back in the background." I have tried uninstall LF 9.0, rebooting the machine, and reinstalling LF Client 9.2 and get the same error every time. I have tried installing just the client, the client with Admin Console, the CLient with Snapshot, error 1316 installing Scanning and every other possible combination - all of these produce the same error. Any suggestions on how I might resolve this? Thanks! 0 0 Post Link Replies Sort by: Most popular Most popular Oldest to newest Newest to oldest replied on January 17, 2015 This error generally indicates that something related to installation states in general is in flux. I'd suggest try running the Microsoft installation cleanup utility:http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/enand see if that helps. If not, you'll want to talk to your reseller about opening a support case. 3 0 Post Link replied on January 18, 2015 Hi Justin. Thanks for your input. I ended up uninstalling LF manually (deleting application files, Common Files, AppData files, etc and removing all related registry keys). I then rebooted the machine and tried the LF 9.2 install routine again. That took care of the issue. LF 9.2 is now up and running with all of the components (scanning, Admin Console, Snapshot, PhotoDocs, etc.). We're good to go. Thanks again for the response. 0 0 Post Link Be the first to start a
