How To Fix Error 1320 In Windows 8
Hi there, I am trying to build MSI install-able package for NodeJS server application. So, I have created a simple project and build MSI package, but during the installation http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_programs/error-1320-specified-path-is-too-long/10383b26-bcd6-4884-aa59-b4564780f269 process I have got this error:Code: Select allError 1320. The specified path is too long: C:\Program Files\{ApplicationName}\{NodeJSApplication}\node_modules\bower\node_modules\update-notifier\node_modules\latest-version\node_modules\package-json\node_modules\got\node_modules\duplexify\node_modules\end-of-stream\node_modules\once\node_modules
So, how I can avoid this error? I can't change NPM/Boower folder tree indentation level to reduce the full path.System: Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64, Advanced Installer 12.1.Thanks in advance.P.S: I have read this topic: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2221, but it didn't help me. http://www.advancedinstaller.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30490 Last edited by hehogixoc on Thu May 28, 2015 10:01 am, edited 1 time in total. The specified path is too long Quote Postby Daniel » Thu May 28, 2015 9:22 am Hello and welcome to our forums,I'm afraid this error is caused by the maximum path length accepted by Windows. The maximum path length accepted by Windows is of 260 characters. If your installation path exceeds this limit, then the above error will be thrown. The only solution for this limitation will be to shorten your installation paths so they don't ever exceed the 260 characters limit. If you have any questions let us know. All the best,Daniel Daniel Radu - Advanced Installer TeamFollow us: Twitter - Facebook - YouTube Top hehogixoc Posts: 2 Joined: Wed May 27, 2015 12:08 pm Re: Error 1320.
