The specified path is too long Quote Postby Daniel » Thu May 28, 2015 9:22 am Hello and welcome to our forums,I'm afraid this error is caused by the maximum path length accepted by Windows. The maximum path length accepted by Windows is of 260 characters. If your installation path exceeds this limit, then the above error will be thrown. The only solution for this limitation will be to shorten your installation paths so they don't ever exceed the 260 characters limit. If you have any questions let us know. All the best,Daniel Daniel Radu - Advanced Installer TeamFollow us: Twitter - Facebook - YouTube Top hehogixoc Posts: 2 Joined: Wed May 27, 2015 12:08 pm Re: Error 1320. The environment where the problem occurs and the error message are as follows: Windows XP Create folder c:\DriveV subst v: C:\DriveV Run Installshield 7.04 standard installation. Choose to install to v:\w97 Error message displayed: "Error 1320. The specified path is too long v:\w97." Now, this problem only seems to occur on XP. I've run the installation on windows 98 and 2000 with similar conditions and it runs without problems. Any ideas/suggestions? Katya Reply With Quote 03-25-2004,10:16 AM #2 Igorendra Guest I have the same problem. It appears only under WinXP and only if destination folder points to the drive which was created by "subst" command (virtual drive). Also, another product installs successfully into virtual drive, but uninstallation is interrupted by message "Error 1315. Unable to write to the specified folder Z:\....." Any ideas, suggestions?
