to re install results in same problem. my now absent son set up a bit torrent sequence which i previously used to download. have no clue what a mirror site or checksum is. how can this problem remain after 17 months. will try bugzilla next.keng( 2014-07-02 03:46:04 +0200 )editSolved. I got the same error 1st time. I suspected google chrome corrupting the download files and used mozilla to download (since it does not have any word processing software. hopefully, it wont do such a thing). It installed without any erros.Salman Amoodi( 2015-03-28 03:04:28 +0200 )editadd a comment 6 answers Sort by » oldest newest most voted 0 answered 2013-02-07 16:17:07 +0200 qubit 9393 ●18 ●87 ●63 updated 2013-02-07 16:24:19 +0200 There are a number of related questions on the site. Error 1335. The cabinet file 'name.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this packageClick to expand... After spending hours to solve this issue I could not , I tried many all of them did not help me out. Then I formatted hard drive and I installed fresh copy of windows XP SP2, every thing going fine. Now I tried to install office again same problem , then I tried to use adobe Photoshop CD same error message 1335 , then I tried to install SP3 same error message 1335. Now I have been convinced that the problem with the western digital hard disk ( WD800JB) IDE not SATA, I downloaded utility for WD to test (short and extended) the hard disk the result shows me there is no error. What could be causing this problem ? Why installation went smoothly while installing programs did not ? if the CD Rom (SATA not IDE) would have causing this problem why not with windows CD ?
