a similar problem installing the latest version of Adobe Reader 9.3 as others have had in the past with other Adobe products, but I'm not sure I understand either the cause or solution. I previously had Adobe Reader 7 on my laptop and, having successfully downloaded version 9.3 from the web site along with the DLM, the installation stopped at c. 98% data1.cab file and recorded 'Error 1335, The cabinet file Data 1.cab required for installation is corrupt. Could indicate Network Error, error reading from CD ROM or problem with package.' Choosing the 'Ignore' option brought up 'Error 2350 FDI server error'. I have consequently lost Adobe Reader 7 and cannot install 9.3. I have cleared the downloaded files and tried again from scratch with the same result. I am running Windows XP with all the latest updates. Can anyone explain the nature of the Error messages and how I can overcome them please? Be gentle with the techno-babble as I am a relative IT novice and trying to do these things on my own without the help of an IT department or intelligent kids! Thanks. Jinjajohn. Error 1335. The cabinet file 'name.cab' required for error 1335 the this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this packageClick to expand... After spending hours to solve this issue I could not , I tried many all of them did not help me out. Then I formatted hard drive and I installed fresh copy of windows XP SP2, every thing going fine. Now I tried to install office again same problem , then I tried to use adobe Photoshop CD same error message 1335 , then I tried to install SP3 same error message 1335. Now I have been convinced that the problem with the western digital hard disk ( WD800JB) IDE not SATA, I downloaded utility for WD to test (short and extended) the hard disk the result shows me there is no error. What could be causing this problem ? Why installation went smoothly while installing programs did not ? if the CD Rom (SATA not IDE) would have causing this problem why not with
environment) - Server 2008 R2, Vista Enterprise x86, Win 7 Enterprise x86 - I am receiving the error: "Error 1335 The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used" while installing programs via the network AND the error occurs when copying the install folder then running it locally. I run the setup.exe as administrator, but problems still occur. The error gives me three options, "Abort", "Retry" or "Ignore". Sometimes, though rarely, hitting "retry" will allow the install to continue. Usually, I have to abort and try the install later. If I attempt the install later from a network location, it may work. If I attempt the install from a installer copied to the local C: drive, it will always fail if it fails the first time. This error has occured for several different programs - Adobe Acrobat Standard 9, NetBackup 7.1 (server), nVidia display drivers, etc. - AND on multiple computers. These computers are connected at different locations of the office (server room, IT room, office desks, etc). I've had no other reported network problems or any issues copying data over outside of this. Has anyone encountered problems where the Data1.cab for any program coming over the network gets corrupt? It seems somewhere during the install process (when running from a network location) or copying the installer over something causes the data1.cab file to not be read properly. Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks for any suggestions! November 5th, 2011 11:34am I suspect this could be due to Windows Installer service, not very sure though. On any sample machine (not on all) where you are getting this error, try to unregister & register Windows Installer service and check if it resolves the issue. You can check the following URL for the instructions to fix Windows Installer issues. I understand that, the URL talks about some different error however, you can try it on one machine if you wish to do so... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315353 Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now November 5th
