File c:\Windows\Installer\85f15da.msi was rejected by digital signature policy.Then the install stops and rolls back.How can I fix this and I'm really stuck because my Guest Machine stopped being powered on because the product expired.I never knew in advance that the product actually expires and I read FAQs and I don't think I saw it.thanksIK2003 12113Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. From the release notes: When attempting to install VMware Server on a Windows 2003 Server host, you might see the error message Error 1718. File installer_name.msi was rejected by digital signature policy.Workaround: For more information and possible workarounds, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925336. 1718: file was rejected by digital signaturepolicy Posted on October 23, 2012 by Luis Miguel Rodríguez I ran into the following error when trying to install VMWare Server 2.0 - on Windows Storage Server 2003. "Error 1718. File was https://communities.vmware.com/thread/136560?start=0&tstart=0 rejected by digital signature policy" There is a hotfix available to resolve the issue from Microsoft. More information about the hotfix and the download can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925336 The hotfix resolved the issue for https://injustfiveminutes.com/2012/10/23/vmware-error-1718-file-was-rejected-by-digital-signature-policy/ me. Brief Description Install this update to resolve an issue where you receive a digital signature policy error message when installing a large Microsoft Windows Installer (.msi) package or a large Microsoft Windows Installer Patch (.msp) package. CAUSE: This problem occurs if the Windows Installer process has insufficient contiguous virtual memory to verify that the .msi package or the .msp package is correctly signed.
