From the release notes: When attempting to install VMware Server on a Windows 2003 Server host, you might see the error message Error 1718. File installer_name.msi was rejected by digital signature policy.Workaround: For more information and possible workarounds, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925336. File was https://communities.vmware.com/thread/136560?start=0&tstart=0 rejected by digital signature policy" There is a hotfix available to resolve the issue from Microsoft. More information about the hotfix and the download can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925336 The hotfix resolved the issue for https://injustfiveminutes.com/2012/10/23/vmware-error-1718-file-was-rejected-by-digital-signature-policy/ me.
