to update an ini file which is being installed to a network drive. I see from a post on the 'general' forum last november error 1913 mapisvc inf (re: ISX 3.53) that there is no way around avoiding this issue should

ini file handling functionality in ISX). I have checked that there are no permissions issues. My question is under what circumstances does it produce this error and is it curable under https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/235242 4.0? We've installed this particular install 30 or so times on different networks without any problems until today. Prior to upgrading to 4.0. the same install was run on at least 50 networks using a script built with 3.53. The destination machine is running Windows 2000 Server, the setup is being run from a Windows 2000 Pro machine. There is no domain, just https://community.flexerasoftware.com/archive/index.php?t-113452.html a workgroup of which the pro machine is a member. Any thoughts? Phil Chandima03-26-2003, 06:46 PMThis error pops up because of a Windows Installer limitation. Windows Installer can't update ini files on a UNC path. If the network drives are mapped I think it works. Are there any mapped paths involved? That could be the difference between now and then. PHIL00703-27-2003, 12:14 PMYes the drive is mapped as H: Installation directory is always "h:\company\progname" Just very strange that this has never cropped up before..... Chandima03-28-2003, 05:19 PMIt has come up before I think during Express 3.03 or so. It's rather rare probably because not many people update Ini file's that are on a network path (just a theory). It's been this way since the Msi 1.2 engine. PHIL00703-31-2003, 07:16 AMEverything is being installed to a network drive including ini files and programs. Surely its common place to install to a network path (and on occasion) update an ini file at the same time??? PHIL00703-31-2003, 08:44 AMI have just been informed by one of our engineers (:o!!) that this problem is due to a documented bug in Windows In

Presto Page manager was installed after I got a new printer. I have uninstalled Presto Page Manager and reinstalled it to no avail. I do not understand why or how this happened. What the heck is a win.ini and why can O not change it or get a new one as a download. This is very frustrating because it prevents me from updating Windows apps.
