Restart the computer MisterT, Nov 23, 2007 #3 MisterT Thread Starter Joined: Nov 23, 2007 Messages: 14 Is there a way to obtain a new win.ini? Presto Page manager was installed after I got a new printer. I have uninstalled Presto Page Manager and reinstalled it to no avail. I do not understand why or how this happened. What the heck is a win.ini and why can O not change it or get a new one as a download. This is very frustrating because it prevents me from updating Windows apps. update file C:\windows\win.ini Permissions were right. I could rename the file, so that means it was not in use by some other program... but apparently it was Trend Micro blocking the installation. Using services.msc I disabled all Trend Micro stuff, finished the install and rebooted to get all services running as normal. © GeekLabInfo Error 1913: Setup cannot update file C:\windows\win.ini is a post from GeekLab.info.
