Error 1920 Service Diskeeper
Primary Software: LabWindows/CVI Development Systems>>LabWindows/CVI Full Development System Primary Software Version: 2009 SP1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A Problem: I have downloaded a copy of LabWindows™/CVIfor evaluationand have attempted to install it. About half way through the installation I see the error message below. Error 1920, Service "Lookout Citadel Server" failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. I am the administrator on this computer so I am sure that I have sufficient privileges. How can I get this application to install without errors? Solution: There are several potential solutions to this issue, which are discussed below: Run the installation as Administrator If installing from the DVD, Download and install from the website Copy the contents of the DVD to the hard drive Run as AdministratorMicrosoft Windows includes User Account Control settings that specify the privileges applications have when run by particular users. If User Account Control settings are enabled for a particular user, then that user will typically be prompted when running an installer to decide whether or not they would like to run the installer as an administrator. LabWindows/CVI does not include instructions in the installer to elevate the installer to have administrator privileges. If these instructions were in the installer, the installer would prompt the user for administrator privileges before running. Instead, the installer runs without administrator privileges, which are required to edit the registry and perform various other tasks. An installer with administrator privileges will add registry entries that contain paths to the libraries necessary for your application to run properly. If the registry entries are not added, your application will not be able to locate all of its dependent libraries. The application may still run, but could experience various problems. This means that sometimes even if theaccount is set as the administrator, it might be necessary to right-click the setup.exe file and select Run as Administrator as shown below: This will promp

Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services up vote 5 down vote favorite We have created a custom error 1920 windows service. The deployment package is done in InstallShield and the installation prompts for the user name and password for the service Log On account. We have had no issues at all installing on various Windows 7 (Professional) and Windows 8 machines, but we get the 1920 error when trying to deploy to a Windows 7 Ultimate machine. We have not yet confirmed whether the issue is to do with the OS or the specific machine that error 1920 service we are trying to install this on. The installer is always run by right-clicking and "Run as Administrator", and the users (both, the user running the installer and the Logon User for which the credentials are supplied) are administrators on the machine. Usually the logged in user installing the service, and the Logon user running the service are the same. Here are the things we have tried. Verified the Logon user is a member of Administrators. Verified the user account settings are exactly the same as another machine where it works. Verified from Control Panel - Administrative tools - Local Security Policy - Local Policies - Security Options = that these again match machine where it works. Ensured that all windows updates have been applied. Verified that the Windows Management Instrumentation Service is running. Restarted it. Rebooted the machine, then tried again. Added "generatePublisherEvidence" element in the service configuration file. (Service failed to start error 1920) But none of the above work. Hope that someone else has come across a similar issue and has a fix.. UPDATE: I have also tried the following: Open SecPol.msc Navigate to Local Policies/User Rights Assigment Find "Log on as a service" policy and add the service account windows service installation share|improve this question edited Nov 19 '13 at 1:59 asked Nov 19 '13 at 0:50 smitra 1502313 add a comment| 5 Answ
