It's Symantec corporate edition... ahh, let's https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH99099.html see- v.10.2.276, I believe. I've got windows vista home premium, and the antivirus was given to me by a friend who recommended it. But I get an error message when I try to install it - it says "Error 1920.Service Symantec AntiVirus Definition Watcher (DefWatch) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." After searching a bit for this particular error message, I found this page and tried every solution given- but no use. https://www.stormfront.org/forum/t517324/ The same error, each time. Any advice? I've also got a somewhat unrelated problem (although it's one of the reasons I think I need a good antivirus program) - on the windows task manager, the CPU usage is constantly at 100%. It doesn't make any difference what I'm doing, or how many or few programs are open- I've closed everything and it remains at 100%. The weird thing is, it doesn't seem to be negatively impacting my computer's performance, apart from occasionally when I try to open a larger program like Macromedia Fontographer, it says "There is not enough memory available to run." Other than that, though, everything seems to be running at normal speed, it's really weird. I'm assuming it's caused by a virus of some sort, but since I'm having trouble installing the antivirus, I can't really check. Any advice- either on a solution for this error message or another good antivirus I could use- would be very much appreciated! 88_Soldat View Public Profile Visit 88_Soldat's homepage!
