I've put in hours of google time and I think I am close to resolving the problem, but I need some instruction on using a "HEX Editor". They are .mov files taken with my Panasonic LZ5 camera. I back these up to a portable hard drive. Something happened to the files during the copy process that causes the 2048 error. I believe the "hex header" is corrupted but I'm not sure how to fix it. Luckily I have one file that I backed up to DVD that works fine, the same file copied to the hard drive has the error. So I have something to compare to and work with. I just need some help using the Hex Editor correctly. Can anybody point me in the right direction on where to look or what to change when I open the files with the hex editor? Any advise, links or instruction is appreciated.
