of the -2048 error come from codec misuse by the mis-naming of the 'quicktime' files. Then download any transcodal translator. I used VLC Player, which can do pretty much anything. VLC Site: — > http://www.videolan.org/ Once downloaded you’ll find it can play your 'broken files'. Proceed to click on File — >Streaming/Exporting WIzard... Go through: 'Transcode/Save to file' error 2048 flash Then: Select either select streaming file from location: Or: Select File from existing playlist. (Open(ed) files) Last: Select how you want it TRUELY encoded as anything from mpeg4 video and audio to DivX to H. 264 to Theora REMEMBER: select the transcode buttons. (Don’t forget bitrate has an extreme importance the more bits the higher quality but it comes at a price as the video becomes larger. It won’t be 100% quality, maybe 95% max; usually around 85 - 90% normal quality.) Next: select your encapsulation method you want this to match your codec so please match them, it causes less problems. Almost Done: Select a save location and wammo your done! I recently received a go pro hero 4 session for my birthday, along with a 64gb micro SD card. I have just returned from a long weekend of skiing, only to find 90% of my videos will not play (absolutely gutted.) It seems the only videos that work are in comfortable temperatures inside the apartment, and every corrupt video is of skiing - which makes me think it is the cold? (temperature was around -8degC outside). I understand that some micro SD cards (if cheap) do not work, but I had tested the camera before the trip and all worked fine, I do not know the make of the micro SD card due to not buying it myself The error message upon playing the videos is: Can't play. So what’s with this error, and why doesn’t it error 2048 go away even if you open the file with something else, like VLM Media Player? Well, Error – 2048 refers to “no movie found”. More accurately, it refers to the “movie atom” which describes the media data inside the MOV file. If the movie atom is missing, the previously mentioned error appears. MOV is a file format commonly used for saving couldn't open the video files on Mac OS X, as these files boast a great compression algorithm and are recognized for their great video quality. The last file of Saturday and Sunday both are "corrupted." I get this message from Windows Media Player: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.: I get this message from QuickTime: "Error 2048 : Couldn't open the file because it is not a file that QuickTime understands." Please keep in mind, I'm not a programming/code guru...at all. Any suggestions? It's a HD Hero 2 with a 32 Gb card. I had it on all day Saturday, the 32 Gb card should hold 8 hours. Is it normal for the recording to be broken up into 1,947,243 KB segments? Using GoPro Studio, when I edit and convert the video from GoPro to MP4, the picture is great, but I'm losing the sound. What am I doing wrong? Share this post Link to post Bill Strong 2,596 ChumpStaff 2,596 4,542 posts LocationNelson County, Virginia Posted November 4, 2014 http://shop.gopro.com/
