This just happened this morning. . FRx was running fine yesterday. The only thing that MAY have had anything to do with it is an automatic service patch? If anyone has figured out why this is happening and maybe what we should be looking for to fix it, it would be extremely helpful! Thanks. First try to browse to that directory and see if possibly permissions changed for it. Sometimes an IT person will change folder permissions for a folder and all subfolders will be changed as well. Look at the permissions of this folder. Users need at least read write but full control works. If you have a sysdata backup, try replacing th

In our last runabout 40 reports generated and then processing stopped with error 19999 -"error in reading command line" and we were unable to get http://microsoft.public.frx.narkive.com/2PDnpZHf/report-server-error-19999 the rest of thereports to generate. Customersource has one KB related to this error, andbasically states that I need to re-install Report Server or replace theprogram directory from a backup due to a damaged Frxa32.exe file. Fromsearching the web a bit I am finding that this may be a frequent error withReport Server - my question is, is there anything we error 3709 can do to avoid thishappening again? We need to distribute in a timely manner each month...thanks for any ideas!Angie Rick Tenorio [MSFT] 2008-02-15 00:46:02 UTC PermalinkRaw Message My experience has been that this error is most often caused due to problemsin the FRxQue32.mdb file in the Sysdata directory.A possible resolution - and to help avoid this error in the future, you cantry time error 3709 compacting the file.Steps for compacting:1. Stop the Report Server application.2. Open FRx Designer3. Choose "File" from the menu bar then "Compact FRx Database", "FRx QueueDatabase".You should receive a message stating that the compact was successful.I would recommend that you compact all three of the databases ("Current SpecSet Database", "FRx System Database", and "FRx Queue Database") on a regularbasis. This will keep the files in effecient, working order. To resolve this issue, you should not need to reinstall Report Server. Youjust need to replace the FRxQue32.mdb file. Here are the steps:1. Stop the Report Server application.2. Locate the FRxQue32.mdb file. It is placed in the shared SYSDATAdirectory by default, but can be placed anywhere on the system.3. Rename the file extension to ".old".4. Locate the FRxQue32.TPL file in the shared Sysdata directory.5. Make a copy of the file.6. Rename the copy to FRxQue32.mdb.7. Start the Report Server application.Note - By doing these steps, you will need to resetup all of your scheduleditems again. To help avoid this in the future, you may want to make a copyof the MDB file once you have all of your i
