Error 42127 Windows Xp
Local time:06:09 AM Posted 27 November 2011 - 05:13 AM I have run an AVAST scan which ended abruptly and asked me to reboot. There was a message with "42127 {CAB archive is corrupted}". Since then I cannot access the internet nor any of my programs. Whenever I boot I get "Desktop is not accessible. Insuficient system resources exist to complete requested service." I get a similar message (insuficient system resources...) whenever I want to start anything with my PC. I get a message from the task bar "check your computer security, there are multiple security problems with your computer. Click the notification to fix this problem." When I click i get : "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item." !!! As for the WIFI, "file sharing" is ON, I cannot put it OFF; and "Public folder" is ON, I cannot put it OFF!!! Once on SAFE mode my device manager shows that only 2 Network Adapters are in working order "Bradcom 440x10/100 integrated controller" and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connexion". All the other adapters "6T04" and all the "isatap" cannot start (code 10). I don't know what virus and/or malware cause(s) this mess but I am getting mad about the whole thing. Can someone kindly help? ==

Advertisement Cloquet52 Thread Starter Joined: Mar 30, 2011 Messages: 1 Have noticed my computer booting up and shutting down much more slowly each time I use it. Tends to freeze up and I've had to do a forced quit to reboot, every time I use it. I ran Malwarebytes in regular mode and Safe mode; then ran Avast scan in both modes also. Neither of these are finding a thing on my computer. Ran a boot-time scan in Avast and have 3 error messages: Error 42127 {CAB archive is corrupted} Error 42145 {installer archive is corrupted} Error 42144 {OLE archive is corrupted} Is there something I can do to fix/repair these archives? Are these corrupted archives causing my computer to run sluggishly? You cannot repair the archives. They most likely do not need to be repaired. The error is an error. It will give that message if it is unable to open an archive because it is in a different format and is a common event. They have nothing to do with how your machine will run. Do not trust a program designed to scan your machine for infections to evaluate the integrity of archives. That is not what it was meant to do and will not do it correctly.
