Even if it were corrupt there is nothing that a user can do to resolve any corruption, short of replacing the file. So essentially there is nothing you need to do.. Advertisement Cloquet52 Thread Starter Joined: Mar 30, 2011 Messages: 1 Have noticed my computer booting up and shutting down much more slowly each time I use it. Tends to freeze up and I've had to do a forced quit to reboot, every time I use it. I ran Malwarebytes in regular mode and Safe mode; then ran Avast scan in both modes also. Neither of these are finding a thing on my computer. Ran a boot-time scan in Avast and have 3 error messages: Error 42127 {CAB archive is corrupted} Error 42145 {installer archive is corrupted} Error 42144 {OLE archive is corrupted} Is there something I can do to fix/repair these archives? Are these corrupted archives causing my computer to run sluggishly? You cannot repair the archives. They most likely do not need to be repaired. The error is an error. It will give that message if it is unable to open an archive because it is in a different format and is a common event. They have nothing to do with how your machine will run. Do not trust a program designed to scan your machine for infections to evaluate the integrity of archives. That is not what it was meant to do and will not do it correctly.
