When trying to print an Excel document we get the gmlink not found. I removed the gmlink, then did a re-install and still getting the same errors. This just started for them today, it had been working just fine yesterday and earlier in the day as well. The instance of GM is running from the server, and other users can print just fine. When you uninstall the link, make sure that you exit Word, search for all copies of "normal.dot", delete those copies, then re-word to recreate its normal.dot. Then do your reinstallation. _________________Bob Gannett 253-627-2244 goldsupport@harbornet.com *** Providing AFFORDABLE GoldMine Supportsince 1990 Posted: Fri Aug 07, 2009 3:04 pm Points: 0 avada-it Obsessive GoldMiner Joined: 07 Jul 2008 Posts: 138 Thanks Bob, tried all of that and still have same problem. Even uninstalled Office XP and reinstalled along with gmlink (version for Office XP). I do get the option of debugging normal.dot and this is what comes up: Private Sub TmpDDE() Wordbasic.Call "GMLink" End Sub Posted: Fri Aug 07, 2009 5:00 pm Points: 0 bgannett GoldMine Guru Joined: 07 Sep 2007 Posts: 1809 Location: Pacific NorthWest As I said on the other forum, try going to Tools > Options > Macros. If you see a macro named something like "TmpDDE.." delete it. _________________Bob Gannett 253-627-2244 goldsupport@harbornet.com *** Providing AFFORDABLE GoldMine Supportsince 1990 Posted: Mon Aug 10, 2009 1:24 am Points: 0 ronanc GoldMine Veteran Joined: 10 Sep 2007 Posts: 723 Try turning Word macro security to Low (Tools >> Macro >> Security) before reinstalling the GMLink. For your version of GoldMine and Office I would recommend installing GMLink 6.7.194 first, and if that does not work try 6.7.216. If neither of those work you may have to revert t

I have been using the Goldmine Link to merge the database with Word templates. I use the Document Template in Goldmine and it opens a Word document and merges the fields. Until this week...Word will open but with a popup screen from Visual Basic that reads, Run time error '438' Object doesn't support this property or method. The error 438 choices are End or Debug. When I click on Debug it says Normal Word TmpDDE Mod (Code) (General) TmpDDE and under it Private Sub TmpDDE () Word Basic, Call Goldmine Link. End Sub What does all this mean and what can I do? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Link to no avail. The Goldmine toolbar does not come up in Windows and I am unable to run contracts using the merge feature. (I have to manually go error 438 goldmine in and type the fields it normally fills.) lisaholub, Oct 17, 2008 #1 Sponsor Gombot It's My Birthday! Joined: Mar 11, 2008 Messages: 82 Ahh Goldmine. I used that program for years, and always wondered why it wasn't more popular. Unfortunately, I don't recall ever having a problem quite like that. Frontrange used to provide pretty good support for Goldmine. Have you run this question through their forums? http://forums.frontrange.com/ Gombot, Oct 18, 2008 #2 lisaholub Thread Starter Joined: Oct 17, 2008 Messages: 3 I've been on the frontrange forum and am trying to resolve it that way. This has been the most frustrating program to work with as it doesn't work well with Adobe Acrobat in converting my forms, etc. Thank you for trying to help. lisaholub, Oct 20, 2008 #3 slurpee55 Joined: Oct 20, 2004 Messages: 7,837 What version of Word are you using? The electricity kicked off for a couple of minutes last week. Somehow?...my Goldmine toolbar and all controls had been disabled. I reset it and everything is currently running. lisaholub, Oct 20, 2008 #5 Sponsor This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies. Please sta
