Error 500 Invalid Post Request Exception
POST Request Exception; post; web server; http; server console; invalid post exception Technote (FAQ) Question You see the following error message on the Lotus Domino server console: "07:59:51 AM Invalid POST Request Exception [/dir/database.nsf/...]" What causes the error? The error can occur in a number of situations: When a Web user accesses a mail file and clicks the Send button after composing a message. The mail message is never sent. When data transmission from the Web browser to the Domino server is interrupted, for example, the user closes the Web browser or the Web browser crashes. When a Web user saves a document with a large file attachment, then clicks the Save button a second time during file transmission to the server When a Web Browser submits a request that exceeds the limits set within the Domino Server document. Answer The Lotus Domino server reports this error due to the following conditions: If the POST request Content_Length exceeds the limits set in the Server document, as follows: - Server document -> Internet Protocols tab -> HTTP tab -> Maximum Size of request content field The default is 10,000 KB; to have no limit, you set 0 KB. - Server document -> Domino Web Engine tab -> Maximum POST data field The default is 10,000 KB; to have no limit, you set 0 KB. If the Content_Length, the number of bytes sent by the Web browser in the header of an HTTP request, differs from the length that the Domino server receives, the server returns this error because of the data truncation detected. Determining and resolving server limit exceeded To determine if the content length of the request exceeds the limits set in the Server document, you can temporarily enable HTTP request logs. (For instructions, refer to "How to enable HTTP Request logging in Domino" (#1099151)). Find the request that corresponds to the time the error appears on the server console. Check the content length of that HTTP request to see if it exceeds the
Web Server: Invalid POST Request Exception Synopsis Normally seen when posting a form to the Dominon server with a large attachment that exceeds the maximum limit specified by the server document. Suggested Causes and Solutions: Solutions Most probably that you are trying to post a document that is larger than the "Maximum POST data" setting in the Domino Web Engine section of the server document.Set the Maximum post size to 0 in the server document and there's no limit on file size!Jake on 12/05/2004 14:10 I too have same problem even though I set HTTP_Audience to Custom and set post size max to 100,000. Go to Basics tab in server document and make sure that Optimize HTTP performance based on the following primary activity is set to Advanced (Custom Settings).2. Next go to Internet Protocol Tab and Domino http://www.codestore.net/errors.nsf/all/820F9516B463E98D80256E9200331920?OpenDocument Web Engine and under post data change the default setting of 0 which actually means 32MB to the value you want in Bytes NOT KBytes as it suggests.I have made this change to the Domino Server config and have successfully uploaded a 250 Mb fileKB on 12/14/2004 18:24 I am getting the same error messages popping up in the log consistently everyday. The document that's being posted does not have any attachments. It is an html page that has a hardcoded HTML form that posts a couple of hidden text fields and a search text box. Since the possibility of too much information coming through is out of the picture (unless someone is maliciously submitting data). The only other thing I can think of is that the content being sent is less than the specified amount in the content size field of the header. If that's the case, then a whole sleu of possibilities open up. What if the transmission of data is interupted? What if someone hits submit before the last submit has completed? what if someone's browser is sending extra information that causes the content to be more or less that content size field?Gary Yerby on 04/27/2005 10:04 Need AnsShishir on 09/06/2005 02:04 AM our system was running well, but we faced the same problem once.it was in submit code:function fSaveAndClose(unid) {document.forms[0].submit();document.location.h
Hello, just got some news on this issue that some people are getting… This is a known issue from IBM, and http://www.miny.fr/blog/2012/10/error-500-http-web-server-invalid-post-request-exception/ here is the answer from IBM: Found Lotus Notes SPR # BSCT8X7BDY Should be fixed in 8.5.3 FP3 From Lotus Notes forum To be clear, there is an issue with ICS and the built in browser. My app rely on the web browser provided by Google, and the issue is the same in the end. I have been working a lot on error 500 searching a workaround for this issue, but nothing is really doing the job. I have a fix, but it is not working 100% of the time. So I have decided that I will wait for the fix from IBM since now. Realy hope 8.5.3FP3 will fix this issue… As stated here, 8.5.3FP3 is due on November. I will keep beta status on the error 500 invalid app up to this release as I can't realy do anything at the moment. For information, I use a 8.5.3 FP2 Domino server and POST method is doing this error 500. But GET method is working well. Read more from Non classé Comments are closed.
