Error 500 Invalid Url Exception
URL action url command; url action; redirect; redirection; redirects; incoming URL; HTTP Web Server: Invalid URL Exception; Invalid URL Exception; wildcard Technote (FAQ) Question You create a URL Redirection that uses a wildcard for the incoming URL and redirects the Web user to a specific resource on the Lotus Domino server, such as follows: Incoming URL path: /test/* Redirection URL string: /names.nsf/ When the redirection rule is applied to an incoming URL, however, the following error occurs: "HTTP Web Server: Invalid URL Exception" You notice that the redirected URL contains the URL action from the incoming URL. For example, an incoming URL as follows: http://www.example.com/test/abc.nsf/myform?OpenForm is redirected to the following URL: http://example.com/names.nsf?OpenForm Answer Domino URL commands have the following syntax: http://Host/DominoObject?Action&Arguments Any URL action in an incoming URL, such as ?OpenForm, is appended to the redirection URL string. Therefore, in the case above, Domino returns an error because ?OpenForm is not an action that can be performed on the database names.nsf. To avoid the errors, you should explicitly add a URL action to the Redirection URL string. When you specify the specific action, the action in the incoming URL is not used. For example, adjust your URL Redirection settings as follows: Incoming URL path: /test/* Redirection URL string: /names.nsf?OpenDatabase Document information More support for: Lotus End of Support Products Lotus Domino Server Software version: 5.0, 6.0, 6.5 Operating system(s): AIX, IBM i, Linux, Solaris, Windows, z/OS Reference #: 1214276 Modified date: 2006-10-04 Site availability Site assistance Contact and feedback Need support?
