What can the problem be? ERROR IS :- Error 500: java.lang.LinkageError: LinkageError while defining class: jxl.format.CellFormat Could not be defined due to: (jxl/format/CellFormat) bad major version at offset=6 This is often caused by having a class defined at multiple locations within the classloader hierarchy. IBM WAS 6.1 Error 500: LinkageError Started By JodyW , Sep 01 2009 05:51 AM Please log in to reply 5 replies to this topic #1 JodyW JodyW Junior Member Members 9 posts Posted http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6896290/getting-java-library-error-in-application 01 September 2009 - 05:51 AM I installed Actuate v10 (build 100B081204) on a pair of windows 2003 servers. I installed Actuate Information Console v10 on a websphere server and it's functional. I then modified the iPortal war to include the Mashboard customizations per the "installing into a customized version of Actuate information console 10) section http://developer.actuate.com/community/forum/index.php?/topic/16610-ibm-was-61-error-500-linkageerror/ in the Mashboard Installation doc, and redeployed. I can still log into the Information console as before. However, when I browse to http://ltltecwts18/b...ject=QuickStart, the dreaded Error 500: LinkageError while defining class: com.actuate.mashboard.actions.MashboardAction Could not be defined due to: (com/actuate/mashboard/actions/MashboardAction) bad major version at offset=6 appears. I'm running IBM Websphere v6.1.0.19, which is using ibm java 1.5.0. I speculate that the mashboard I downloaded may be using 1.6???? Can anyone suggest an easy plan of action to correct this error? I'm under a deadline to get a proof of concept operational on a test server in the next day or two. Let's see what we can do, to get you a version using Java 1.5. Back to top #3 PuckPuck PuckPuck Junior Member Members 31 posts Posted 02 September 2009 - 06:32 AM Attached is mashboard.jar comp
