Sep 30, 2010 12:53 AM|roys99|LINK hi, Been walking in circles for hours. I am usin webdav to provide access to our file server for users. I have one root share on the file server. a web.config file is wrriten to the remote share - and onc this happens i get an err 500 when trying to access. Do i need to change the permissions on this file? and to what users? the app identity? also - MUST I use classing app pool in my setup (accessing a shre on a different server?) this web.config file is realy not necessary there - can i make it "keep" n the iis server? one more - should i enable anon access? I should have added that under the described root share on file server are users home folders - each accessible ONLY to the specific user naturaly? Oct 05, 2010 05:05 AM|Leo Tang - MSFT|LINK Hi, If you allow anonymous access, please grant the user account used for anonymous access NTFS permissions on the file share. Also, you can check the path credentials(IIS Manager->Click site->Click Basic Settings...->Click Connect as...), make sure it have permissions on the folder. For more information about the anonymous
2, 20130 0 0 0 I have written some instruction on how I setup a WebDAV installation that uses Windows Authentication and UNC here. An important concept to understand before you start setting up a WebDAV solution using this configuration is the difference in behavior when you are logged on and testing from the IIS server versus testing from a client machine. When you are on the IIS server, you are not going to be using Kerberos, instead you will use NTLM. This is just how it is. However, when accessing the WebDAV https://forums.iis.net/t/prev/1172020 solution from a client machine, if IIS and the browser are configured to use Kerberos, then it will be. You can use Fiddler or Network Monitor to see which authentication provider is used for authentication. Here is an article I wrote about how Negotiate in IIS works. That being said, here are some experiences I had when setting up a WebDAV installation using https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/benjaminperkins/2013/11/02/500-19-when-setting-up-webdav-on-a-unc-file-share/ Windows Authentication and a UNC share. After installing the WebDAV role, creating the web site that is mapped to a UNC, I accessed the web site from the IIS server and received the error shown in Figure 1. When I accessed the same from a client machine, I received that shown in Figure 2. Figure 1, WebDAV HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized Figure 2, WebDAV HTTP Error 401 – Unauthorized Initially, looking at these errors and having seen them very often in the past, I thought, ok I can solve these easy. Unfortunately, it did not turn out that way…. What I did next was to enable Windows Authentication, I forgot to do that initially, though it was going to be a quick win, nope… I did however experience a strange result… While logged onto the IIS server and having enabled Windows Authentication, I access the WebDAV website and got a 500.19 status message, as shown in Figure 4. Figure 4, WebDAV HTTP Error 500.19 – Internal Server Error I used the KERBLIST tool to check what tickets I had and as seen in Figure 5, there were

I've recently installed Server on OS X 10.8, but I can't get webdav working. After enabling webdav on some https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5010071?start=0&tstart=0 shared folder, it did work perfectly. But after I tried to secure the access only to selected users, I now get a Server error 500 and nothing appears anymore on the clients (Goodreader, Numbers on iPad, safari...).Of https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/AOD-6861 course I tried to put the proper rights back, but no luck.Anyone knows how to solve this issue? Or at least how to get to the proper log file (web server error logs don't show anything)...Thanks a error 500 lot.Yann Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Server, 10.8.3 Posted on May 2, 2013 2:44 AM I have this question too Close Q: Webdav issue Error 500... Launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and have a look at /var/log/apache2/ directory. If error 500 webdav you're still using the default names, then access_log and error_log are the files. cd /var/log/apache2/then some of the typical commands used here are:lscat access_logcat error_logtail -n1000 access_logtail -n1000 error_logAlso use the command sudo apachectl configtest to verify that the Apache configuration file syntax is OK, though it's somewhat unlikely that's wrong.
