Is your PHP configured properly. I mean a simple PHP test page working fine. Also can you post the detailed error message you are getting. You will need to turn off "Show Friendly HTTP request' feature in IE. How to do that is explained at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294807. Thanks, Don. Reply server_peep 17 Posts Re: Wordpress on iis - 500 Server Errors Dec 29, 2009 01:54 PM|server_peep|LINK Test phppage works fine. When "Show Friendly HTTP request" is off, I get a blank page. When "Show Friendly HTTP request" is on, I get a 500 error. I mean did you launch the site's page and were able to run through Wordpress installation? Or you are getting 500 launching the site from WPI finished page. Thanks, Don. a few minutes. Join Now Hello, having some issues with a site on a virtual server. Server hosts about 10 sites total with IIS7, all Wordpress sites, only this one site is having issues. The problems https://forums.iis.net/t/1163729.aspx?Wordpress+on+iis+500+Server+Errors did not coincide with any changes or upgrades made manually since it worked last. When loading the site I get HTTP 500 error. I've turned on detailed errors in the web.config file as well as in IIS7 for the site in question but I still recieve nothing more detailed than the generic "HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request." error. https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/230155-iis7-wordpress-and-http-error-500 I don't see any errors reported in the W3SVC log for the site. Also files on the site seem to be successfully accessed when viewing processes through procmon. I've tried disabling all Wordpress plugins through the database but that didn't help any. My next step will be to replace Wordpress files in case something got corrupted somewhere? Any other steps I should take or anyone have any ideas what may be going wrong here? Thanks! Edit: I've also tried renaming the theme folder to no effect so I don't believe it's an issue with the wordpress theme. While troubleshooting once the site actually loaded on it's own when I clicked the tab I had it in the browser, when I tried to reload it went back to error 500 so not sure if it pulled it from cache or something. I'm using Wordpress 3.9, PHP 5.4.14, IIS8 on Windows 2012 and I have the URL Rewrite mod iis error 500 version 2 installed. Whenever I turn Permalinks on in my WordPress site (/%category%/%postname%/), I get the following error (this is on the server. From client, additional info is hidden): Internal Server Error 500.0 C:\PHP\v5.4\php-cgi.exe - The FastCGI process exited unexpectedly Module: FastCgiModule Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler Handler: PHP54_via_FastCGI Error Code: 0x000000ff This error occurs when navigating my site and even when working in wp-admin. However, if I hit refresh a couple of times, eventually the page does load (in most cases). Then I can perhaps navigate to another couple of pages before the error occurs again, but it seems that the error occurs every time when navigating to a blog post. I've tried both the following web.config files and both with the same results.
