Error 501 Permission Denied
Looking through numerous posts in multiple forums the only two solutions that appear to work for this issue are listed below. First of all, there is a Microsoft Knowledge Base article on this particular subject that you may find helpful. Basically, the article tells you to turn off the Accessibility Options. Follow the steps below to do this. 1) Click Start 2) Click Settings 3) OpenControl Panel, and then double-click Internet Options or Internet Settings. 4) On the General tab, click Accessibility. 5) Click the following check boxes as necessary to clear them: Ignore colors specified on Web pages Ignore font styles specified on Web pages Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages 6) Click OK 7) Restart your computer for the changes to take effect. The other issue causing a 501 Permission Denied error in Outlook Express Compose Window is a security issue. Follow these steps to correct the issue. 1) Open Control Panel 2) Open Internet Options 3) Click on the Security tab 4) Click on the Internet option and then click on the Custom Level button 5) Under Miscellaneous, find the section called Navigate sub frames across different domains 6) Set this option to Enable 7) Click Ok 8) Click on Trusted Sites at the top of the window 9) Click on Custom Level 10) Under Miscellaneous, find the same section called "Navigate sub frames across different domains" 11) Set this option to Enable as well 12) Click Ok 13) Click Ok again to close Internet Options Now reboot your computer and try it again. In most cases, this solves the problem.
