All I see is HTTP 501 / HTTP 505 error in IE 8. First I thought that my internet is down but later I found out that other applications error 501 youtube like Firefox, Skype all work fine. Only my IE 8 wasn't working. Even uninstalling Norton 360 and running the Norton Removal tool will not fix the problem. First time it happened I used my laptops e-Rocovery and restored my computer to factory defaults (i.e. the system was formatted and a fresh copy of Windows 7 was installed). Then I tried again and the same problem happened again. This time I uninstalled Norton 360 then ran Norton Removal Tool and stil could not get my IE to work so I used Windows System Restore option to get IE to work again instead of doing the fresh install again using the e-Recovery option. Can someone here help me why Norton 360 won't work for me via Internet Explorer? Thanks. -Amit Me Too0 Last Comment Replies achugh Newbie1 Reg: 02-Nov-2011 Posts: 3 Solutions: 0 Kudos: 0 Kudos0 Re: Error in Internet Explorer HTTP 501 / HTTP 505 Posted: 02-Nov-2011 | 5:35AM • Permalink As soon as I install the Norton 360 v5 on Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium over my Acer 5742 laptop my Internet Explorer 8 will stop working.
