What happens is, after clicking connect to > tiscali broadband it shows teh connecting prompt, 'verifying username and password' about 30 odd seconds later the 721 error appears. Redialling does not work. I then turn it off, leave it maybe 20-30 seconds and try connect again. Now it will either connect http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/internet-connection-failing-with-error-721.138593/ or get the error 721 again. Sometimes it connects after turning off and on again once, twice, three times or maybe more. But only then does it work. I have re-installed the drivers, using old and new, and enabling or disabling the firewalls, Zonealarm or WIndows FW. Neither affect it. I am thinking that its windows network software, maybe sockets. I remember it worked until some windows updates, which am unable to un-install. Mabe there are some logs that might tell me a bit more about whats happening where the problem actually lies. There is a problem I forgot to mention, if turn on terminal window in 'Advanced' tab after clicking connection properties, it will then uncheck after exiting the window, whether I click apply or ok, its like the

But anyway for the past few months my internet has been unreliable at best and now all I get is an Error 721 on connection. I've called Ukonline and they passed my problem though to BT wholesale. Who came back to UKonline and told them to tell me to uncheck a box in modem settings did this, connected but once again got a service that cut out two minutes into connection, disconnected and error 721. It's been going on for sometime now and it seems like the service I'm paying for is never going to right itself with BT wholesale on the case... any other options I may have?!?!
