Remember to use the Arduino with the relax-patch which you can find in the download area (look for arduino-0100-relax-windows.zip - sorry we only have the windows version at the moment). By the way we expect http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/error-compiling-code-with-arduino-ide-1-00 arduino will include this relax-patch in the next official release. ▶ Reply Permalink Reply by Bertrand Duchiron on January 28, 2012 at 7:46pm Thanks for the fast reply. ▶ Reply Permalink Reply by Andre K. on March 4, 2012 at 2:55pm Anyone know of a relax-patch 'ed version for Linux ? ▶ Reply Permalink Reply by Steven Harsanyi on March 4, 2012 at 4:33pm Hi, I use ubuntu linux and I had problems with this line that is in the library files. #if defined(ARDUINO) && ARDUINO >= 100 I had to change all the files with that line to #if defined(ARDUINO) && defined(ARDUINO) >= 100 if you cut and paste the following two separate commands while in the libraries folder each line runs thru all the libraries files and find and replaces find . -name '*.h' | xargs perl -pi -e 's/&& ARDUINO/&& defined(ARDUINO)/g' find . -name '*.cpp' | xargs perl -pi -e 's/&& ARDUINO/&& defined(ARDUINO)/g' after doing that you should be able to make with no errors there is probably is a better way but this works for me. ▶ Reply Permalink Reply by Andre K. on March 5, 2012 at 12:31am what Arduino ve

UTC #2 Hello, Did you follow the instructions for installing the library as described in the readme on the GitHub page? (The "L3G4200D" folder should be in the "libraries" directory of your Arduino installation, for example C:\arduino-0022\libraries\L3G4200D. Inside that folder should be an "examples" folder and two files, L3G4200D.cpp and L3G4200D.h.) If you still have trouble getting the code to compile, please paste the exact error message that the Arduino environment is giving you. - Kevin gdeaver 2011-09-20 01:56:38 UTC #3 The L3G4200D folder is under libraries and contains the example folder . In the example folder are the Serial folder and the cpp and h files. Serial contains just the serial.pde. I can load the serial program. However a compile gives this error message at the line - L3G4200D gyro; Serial:3: error: 'L3G4200D' does not name a typeSerial.cpp: In function 'void setup()':Serial:8: error: 'gyro' was not declared in this scopeSerial.cpp: In function 'void loop()':Serial:12: error: 'gyro' was not declared in this scope On another note I've had the students running the spark fun SPI code on it and initial impression is that this gyro is much more stable than the analog one we were using. Hopefully our robot will be able to drive straight. kevin 2011-09-20 17:23:25 UTC #4 gdeaver: The L3G4200D folder is under libraries and contains the example folder . In the example folder are the Serial folder and the cpp and h files. L3G4200D.cpp and L3G4200D.h should not be in the examples folder; they should be up a level, in the L3G4200D folder. Could you try moving them there to see if that allows the program to compile successfully? (You might have to restart the Arduino environment after you move the files.) - Kevin gdeaver 2011-09-20 21:41:04 UTC #5 Moved the files and the exact same errors. ryantm 2011-09-21 00:00:18 UTC #6 Hello, Can you verify that this is the file structure you have?
