It appears that the changes take affect; they receive this annoying error message after they make the changes. This just started occurring in R6. All users have Manager access to their mail files and were able to perform these functions (except for colors since they didn't have this in R5) fine in R5. I have searched this forum and tried to replace the design back to R5 and then again to R6 which was suggested but that did not work. I also searched Technotes (188899) and it states that this issued was reported to Lotus but that Lotus says Notes is working as designed and the workaround is to allow Manager access to the mail file. Well, my users all have Manager access so this is still a problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Return to top Error Creating AdminP Request, Plea... (Lisa Clark 13.Apr.04) . . creating AdminP request' occurs local; disconnected; remote; laptop; local db; local database; access; You cannot add delegates to the Calendar if you do not have an active server connection; Calendaring & Scheduling; calendar entry; calendar entries; meeting invitation; appointment Technote (FAQ) Question You are using your local Lotus Notes mail database to set Mail Delegation or Calendar Delegation (under Actions > Tools > Preferences). Once you have made the desired delegation changes, you click OK to close the Preferences dialog box; however, the following error message occurs, and your delegation changes are not saved: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/fb6f02a9474fa1c285256e750049dd2d?OpenDocument "Error creating AdminP request, please contact your administrator" This error occurs whether you have connectivity to your Domino Server or not. You have confirmed that the Access Control List (ACL) of the AdminP database is correctly set to 'Author' with 'Create Documents' access. Note: If you have Manager access to your mail database, you will not receive the error and the delegation will be set correctly. Answer http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21097742 This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# MVBN4S9TEQ, and deemed working as designed. To complete this task, allow Manager access to the local mail file. An enhancement request for the ability to perform profile changes without Manager access has been submitted to Quality Engineering (SJAS5XDMR3). There are no plans to investigate this request. This situation also applies to changing a stored signature or other property under Actions > Tools > Preferences. Supporting Information: In Notes R5, if you do not have Manager access to your mail, setting mail and calendar delegation will create an AdminP request to modify the mail database ACL. When you are working with a local mail database, it is assumed that you are not connected to the server since you are working on a local replica on your desktop. When you attempt to set delegation, you are actually generating an AdminP request to change the ACL for your mail database. This functionality is designed to be done only on the Domino Server. If you do not have Manager access to your mail file, you must work on the server replica of your mail database to change mail delegation and calendar delegation. To reprodu

The requests seem to be just sitting in the Administration Request database (admin4.nsf) and are not getting processed when the AdminP task runs, or after manually telling AdminP to process on the users' home server console. No response document is error creating created after the request. After troubleshooting and testing, it was determined that the behavior was caused by the server common name populating the users' location document Server tab, Home/Mail server field instead of the server's hierarchical name. Figure 1: Note When a user is registered, the Access Control List (ACL) gives the user Editor access and the registering administrator Manager error creating adminp access to the mailfile. It is possible to modify this default before registering the user by clicking on 'Advanced' in the Register Person dialog box, click on Mail, and change the mail file owner access. When a user opens their mailfile, selects Tools ->Preferences, and then delegates another user to access their mailfile and calendar, an AdminP request is generated to populate the ACL of the mailfile with the delegated user's name and lists this user as Unspecified, with NoAccess, but with 'Read public documents' and 'Replicate or copy documents' roles. When the Administration request database is viewed under "All requests by server", the server's common name is seen as the server to process the request. AdminP will not run because the system thinks this server does not exist. Figure 2: Answer This issue is now fixed in Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5.3. Error description AdminP requests are failing for "Create IMAP Delegation Requests" Local fix Notes Admin goes into a user's mail file to remove "forwarding of calendar notices". The setting seems to be removed OK, but several days later it's back and meeting notices are being forwarded again to the delegate user, the delegate user is getting frustrated as we've been through this at least 4 times. Checking the Adminp request for - Create IMAP Delegation Requests, and found it was failing with this error... "Title: Administration Requests - Admin Server Path: admin4.nsf; Name: ProxyReplicaId; Error: Note item not found" TROUBLESHOOTING: Using a technote recommendation , "to check the user's location and make sure the Home/Mail Server field is the correct server," it resolved the issue but he thinks should not be necessary. He thinks this is a bug. The delegate only wants the forwarding of notices disabled*. This is not related The admin server is already Domino 9.0.1. The rest of mail servers they upgraded the admin4 and names template to 9.0.1 but still version 8.5.3 The Domino admin is residing on a different mail server as with the mail owner Our mail servers are running Windows 2008 64 bit and Domino 8.5.3 64 bit on those servers our Admin server is running Windows 2003 32 bit, and Domino 9.0.1 template for admin4.nsf is 9.0.1 for all mail servers template for names.nsf is 9.0.1 for all mail servers === Steps to reproduce . 1. The delegate requested to remove herself from having meeting notices forwarded to her from owner's calendar. 2. Notes Admin go into owner's Preferences, Access & Delegation, then highlight delegate's name 3. Click Change Access the box for Automatic Forwarding when "I am a participant" is enabled 4. Uncheck the box for "I am a participant", then 5. Click OK and OK again to Save the setting and Close the dialog. The setting seems to be removed OK, but s
