Error Creating Adminp Request
is in the Location document Domino Server; Incident 1540495; Server; Administration Process; Hierarchical Names; calendar delegation; adminp Technote (FAQ) Question Administration Process (AdminP) requests to change mailfile and calendar delegations generated by the user are not being processed. The requests seem to be just sitting in the Administration Request database (admin4.nsf) and are not getting processed when the AdminP task runs, or after manually telling AdminP to process on the users' home server console. No response document is created after the request. After troubleshooting and testing, it was determined that the behavior was caused by the server common name populating the users' location document Server tab, Home/Mail server field instead of the server's hierarchical name. Figure 1: Note When a user is registered, the Access Control List (ACL) gives the user Editor access and the registering administrator Manager access to the mailfile. It is possible to modify this default before registering the user by clicking on 'Advanced' in the Register Person dialog box, click on Mail, and change the mail file owner access. When a user opens their mailfile, selects Tools ->Preferences, and then delegates another user to access their mailfile and calendar, an AdminP request is generated to populate the ACL of the mailfile with the delegated user's name and lists this user as Unspecified, with NoAccess, but with 'Read public documents' and 'Replicate or copy documents' roles. When the Administration request database is viewed under "All requests by server", the server's common name is seen as the server to process the request. AdminP will not run because the system thinks this server does not exist. Figure 2: Answer This issue is now fixed in Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5.3. Fix details: SPR# WTON5HYPFS Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino. This issue is fixed in the Lotus Notes/Domino mail template version 8.5.3. The following workaround is available for Mail Template versions 8.5.2 and below: Ensure that the user's Home/mail server in the Location document points to the hierarchical

It appears that the changes take affect; they receive this annoying error message after they make the changes. This just http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/fb6f02a9474fa1c285256e750049dd2d?OpenDocument started occurring in R6. All users have Manager access to their mail files and were able to perform these functions (except for colors since they didn't have this in R5) fine in R5. I have searched this forum and tried to replace the design back to R5 and then again to R6 which was suggested but that did not work. I also searched Technotes (188899) and it states that this issued was reported to Lotus but that Lotus says Notes is working as designed and the workaround is to allow Manager access to the mail file. Well, my users all have Manager access so this is still a problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Return to top Error Creating AdminP Request, Plea... (Lisa Clark 13.Apr.04) . .
