Contact us about this article I have a potential client who has expressed some interest in an iOS app I am hoping to pick up with AIR. All of the features they want in the initial version are possible directly from AIR, but they are hesitant to commit to AIR in case they want to add native features somewhere down the road (no ideas on what those features might be, of course). They have asked me to put together a compelling case for why AIR will allow us to do everything we could do natively. Buying native extensions wouldn't be an issue if it comes to that. Obviously I am aware of any native features that aren't included in AIR but are possible with ANEs (game center, iAd, email, etc). What I'm looking for is a list of any features that are available for native apps but aren't available in AIR or existing ANEs. Has anyone run into such features? There is actually one feature they discussed possibly including that I'm not sure about. Is it possible to start a YouTube video playing over Airplay from within an AIR app? There's an AS3-Airplay library on Github but it hasn't been

I have actually created the required files for the extension (the native code, extension descriptor, the swc library and library.swf). However, when I run the command to build the .ane file I get this error: /Users/dalston/TeamAGC/sdk/4.6.0/bin/adt -package -target ane ../release/DeviceInfoExtension.ane extension.xml -swc DeviceInfoExtension.swc -platform iPhone-ARM library.swf libDeviceInfo.a output file is not writable I also tried a variation of that command that results in the same error (which comes straight from the Adobe help docs): /Users/dalston/TeamAGC/sdk/4.6.0/bin/adt -package -target ane ../release/DeviceInfoExtension.ane extension.xml -swc DeviceInfoExtension.swc -platform iPhone-ARM -C platform/ios . -platform default -C platform/default library.swf output file is not writable I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks in advance for your help! air adobe flash-builder native share|improve this question edited Dec 7 '11 at 13:52 JamesHalsall 8,79132755 asked Dec 6 '11 at 19:47 Dalston80 11 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote Had the exact same problem, "output file is not writable" and found solution. In your case, change the ..release/DeviceInfoExtension.ane to DeviceInfoExtension.ane Normally its the path where ANE is being placed that throws this error, so safest way is to run name.ane without any relative path indicators share|improve this answer e
