Making the user a local admin sorts it out, but is there
Error Creating The Output Bitmap File Bginfo Used By Another Process
another way? For security reasons we don't want to make everyone a local admin. We've added a logon script to Group Policy, the script works perfectly on those PCs whose users are local admins but
Create Bitmap From File Android
it brings up an error message on non-local admin users' PCs: "Error creating the output bitmap file: C:\windows\bginfo.bmp: Access is denied. Please ensure the path exists and you have permissions to write it. You can select a different output path for the bitmap using the bitmap location menu item". Some users have personalised their desktops and we don't want to remove those rights, so we can't "force" a creating jpeg file particular bitmap on them by putting the bitmap on a share accessible by everyone and forcing them to use it. In short, we want everyone to be able to keep their current wallpaper, be they local admin or not. Everyone's wallpaper will be stored on their local drive (C:\Windows). But we want the BGInfo information about the PC displayed too. Any ideas, folks? We have an Enterprise Agreement with MS, by the way, if that's of any relevance to anyone. As far as I'm aware we're good to use it as stated above. the finishing touches on it. However we are having a really strange / annoying creating gif file issue with BGinfo. Basically it only works for the domain admin account, or for a user who has local admin right creating tiff file on their client machine. We have the GPO set correctly and have checked settings with another domain we manage. We have also checked the bginfo.vbs file and all is fine there ( it has to be http://forum.sysinternals.com/bginfobmp-access-denied_topic13474.html because it works, albeit with admin rights). When logging onto a client machine with a normal user, the background doesnt display but when running GPresult, the policy is being applied so to speak. As soon as you grant local admin rights and log out and back in, it appears. We have never had this trouble before - Can anyone shed any light on this or anyone had this issue before? I http://www.techexams.net/forums/off-topic/39921-bginfo-problem.html would have thought this is to do with permissions somewhere but have checked. Ive even granted domain users access to the netlogon share and tried. My virtual machines on my laptop at home also do the same thing? What switches are you using? I believe some only work as an admin. Edit: It looks like the /all switch is what does it. Last edited by dynamik; 02-01-2009 at 02:10 PM.
