Tried everything to make this MKV editable. *kills a sheep*When I use Vdub mod with the scripts it freezes, when I use Avidemux it crashes and when I use another MKV extractor it crashes. And when I use this, it says when I first fire it up"mkvextract.exe and/or mkvmerge.exe file not found in the same MKVextractGUI folder. Copy them into this folder and try again"And I blissfully ignore that because I simply dunno what it means, and then opens my GITS Movie 1 1080p H.264 DTS ES6.1 footage and when I try to open it says:"error creating Chilg processCreateChildProcess(ExeName, CommandLine, FChildStdoutWr)"And nothing more happens. Please leave a rather detailed guideline, I have gone out of ideas for what to do.-Ryko Top mirkosp The Absolute Mudman Joined: Mon Apr 24, 2006 6:24 am Status: (」・ワ・)」(⊃・ワ・)⊃ Location: Gallarate (VA), Italy Contact: Contact mirkosp Facebook Skype Twitter Org Profile Re: error using MKV Extract GUI Postby mirkosp » Sun Dec 28, 2008 6:09 pm Vdub and Avidemux might be crashing since it's a rather big resolution. Now onto mkvextract...The issue, there, is that your mkvextractgui.exe file must be in the same installation folder where you have the mkvtoolnix (prolly "C:\Program Files\MKVtoolnix"). Otherwise, it won't work. My eyes were hurt and I thought it might have something to do with the refresh rate or the nvidia driver. So I downgraded the driver from the recommended version (which I forgot the number) to the one before. Many problems arrived after I restart the machine. The main problem I run into is that I cannot start a Terminal. I got an error "There was an error creating the child process for this terminal". Here is the error mesg I found in .xsession-errors. Looks like I am having some permission problems. I tried couple suggestions I found online but they are not helping. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Paul. POLTERGEIST 17/12/2006 18:00 (Dirk-Pitt @ dimanche 17 dcembre 2006 16:49) Pour qu
help, especially when people ask for "step-by-step instructions" (only topped by further requests for videos showing exactly what to do). Why? Because I'm not in the business of hand-holding. I'm not your father, Luke. Three reasons: It doesn't teach you anything. It's dangerous not to think for yourself. You didn't give me anything, why should I give you even more than I've already given you? Asking for a step-by-step guide for something is like saying "do my work for me, I don't want to have to think about it". Unfortunately, this rarely works, or if it works then only for one very specific situation, and others won't benefit from it. Consider a child and its father going down the street. The child suddenly says "Daddy, I want to go to the supermarket!" Which is across the street. Now this child has never crossed a street, and its dad must decide how to grant this wish. One solution is to take his child by the hand, head over to the traffic lights, wait until they turn green, cross the street, and head back to the supermarket on the other side. The child doesn't have to do anything but tag along. It can happily do completely unrelated things in the meantime, e.g. goof off, read a comic book or simply stare at the pavement all the time. It doesn't have to think. The problem with this solution is that the child doesn't learn anything in the process. The next time it will be in a similar situation it might be able to repeat these steps, but it will not be able to adjust to unforeseen circumstances. What if there are no traffic lights but only a zebra crossing? Why do I have to walk all over there to those lights anyway, can't I just cross the street right here? The better solution is for the father to patiently explain why each step is done. What is its significance? What are the dangers? That way the child will learn to be able to apply those steps in different situat
