My approach at removing this requirement is to have every user start their own server where they'll get messages from. This should allow me to have two clients talk to the the other without having to put a server in between them. Right now I've modified my program in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14651894/socket-cant-be-created-throws-ioexception such a way that the client side does the sending and the server does the receiving. Note that communication between the two programs worked perfectly fine up untill these changes. However, now that I've changed some stuff an error occurs as early as when I create a socket. The flow of my program untill the problem is as follows: Program starts Server starts automatically, binded to local port 6666 Connection config pops up, user clicks the save button (target host and port are saved) User clicks the connect button Program creates a client thread Thread creates the socket and initiates the outbound stream After some debugging I've found that this socket is never created. When the flow enters this stage (last item in the list), only the 'First test' gets executed. public void run() { System.out.println("First test"); createConnection(); System.out.println("Second test"); initiateIO(); } private void createConnection() { try { socket = new Socket(host, port); } catch (UnknownHostException e) { OutputUtil.showErrorMessage("Couldn't bind socket to unknown host", "Unknown host"); } catch (IOException e) { OutputUtil.showErrorMessage("General IO error at creating client socket", "IO error"); } } private void initiateIO() { try { outbound = new PrintWriter(socket.getOutputStream(), true); } catch (IOException e) { OutputUtil.showErrorMessage("Couldn't load IO streams from

First, some quick background. Even though Maya is rendering failed to create locally it still depends on these sockets for communication. Maya will simply use this communication channel like a two radio communication between the batch render application and Maya. So what happens in a network environment is that Maya will actually routes itself through the network back to your machine. This is why you must to make sure that the firewall settings are allowing the mayabatch process through regardless of being on a network or not. The firewall is the most simplest solution but we do run into atleast another two scenarios in support. 1. You may also have two Maya session loaded, maybe a background render that has not completed and is locking the port. To fix this either wait till the process is completed for submitting another bacth or check your tasks and kill off the rogue mayabatch. 2. The other is a DNS issue, we find this generally on the Mac side of things. We have seen this after a system has picked up a new IP from the server but the DNS has not refreshed itself and is now pointing to another machine. Since the machine is loaded on the network it has a difficult time findi

Error: ' in /path/to/GameQ/GameQ.php... Issue The issue that causes this error is one or a combination of the following: A bad route from the queried server back to the server initiating the query. The connection attempt is being blocked/dropped by a network appliance such as a router/firewall or the attempt is being blocked/dropped but the actual server running the game server instance. Resolution Unfortunately there is no real way to troubleshoot the issue unless you have direct access to the machine running the game server and the network routers, firewalls, etc in front of it (at your datacenter). If you do not have the ability to have configurations changed there will be little you can do to make the connection with the other server. If you do have direct access and can change firewall rules, routes, etc... then you will have to open up the proper ports for the query to make it to the server. Also you will have to make sure the response can get back out to the server that initiated the query request. Contact GitHub API Training Shop Blog About © 2016 GitHub, Inc.
