Reply ARPRINCE Member 2 Points 110 Posts Re: drag a crystalreportviewer to a form but got "Error creating control". Jun 01, 2004 06:47 PM|ARPRINCE|LINK I had this problem when I upgraded my CR VS.NET 2003 with CR9 full version. Somehow, references are still pointing to the old CR version. I changed the reference from ver 9.1.5000 to 9.2.3300 on all of my project (HTML, VB, ASSEMBLIES, WEBCONFIG, etc.) Reply rccnh None 0 Points 25 Posts Re: drag a crystalreportviewer to a form but got "Error creating control". Jun 10, 2004 02:00 PM|rccnh|LINK ARPRINCE is correct - you have to change the references with VS. Just be careful you get them all! Under c:/Program Files/Common/Crystal Decisions/1.1/Managed/ I add the reference dll's with file version 9.1.9800.0, but in the VS properties window it still says 9.1.5000.0. I saw this on my PC as well when I or iginally installed CR 9 Pro then later upgraded to CR9 Developer. I uninstal led Crystal Reports, then deleted ALL files that related to it (\Program Fil es\Common Files\Crystal Decisions). I reinstalled only CR 9 Developer leaving only version 9.2.3300.0 files. Now to correct your problem: 1. Open your project in Visual Studio, go to 'Project', 'Add Reference'. 2. Click the 'Browse' button. 3. Browse to the folder '\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Crystal Reports 9' . Click on the file 'CrystalDecisions.VSDesigner.dll' then click 'Open'. 4. Drop a new CrystalReportViewer control onto your form. There should now b e no errors.
