You’ll find it from time to time when switching to Design View in Visual Studio to work with custom server controls. The bug is in Service Pack 1 of VS and can be quite annoying. It has been submitted to Microsoft and they claim to be working on a solution which will “fix it in subsequent releases” of Visual Studio. Unfortunately, developers (like me) don’t want their productivity to suffer while we all wait for a fix from Microsoft. So here are a couple of steps you can take to try to resolve this

I get a "Error Creating Control" message for every one of the Telerik ASP.NET Controls. I have done everything listed in your help pages including registering the Telerik.Web.Design.dll in the GAC and copying it to the projects BIN directory and referencing it directly from there. UI for ASP.NET AJAX Resources Buy Try Feed for this thread 18 posts, 0 answers Teresia 6 posts Member since: Jun 2010 Posted 21 Jan 2011 Link to this post Hi Every time I update to a new version of Telerik Radcontrols I get the designer view error back, and every time I go thru the pages here about troubleshooting, and every time the problems get solved by different approaches (remove/add reference, add the .dll in different folders, restart VS etc.) Today nothing I do fixes the problem. What is it that I do wrong? I am using Windows 7, Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and the absolute latest version of Telerik RadControls.
