'Development' started by Rachana, Apr 26, 2007. Rachana New Member HI, I'm a very new user of progress10A. Before that I haven't used progress. I'm trying to view crystal report Developer 11.5 through Progress 4GL programming code. I tried to view simple report with any database. But still it is not showing. Help me with the programming code. i https://scn.sap.com/thread/3533499 have trieds this>> DEFINE VARIABLE ch-CRapplication AS COM-HANDLE NO-UNDO. DEFINE VARIABLE ch-CRreport AS COM-HANDLE NO-UNDO. CREATE "CrystalRuntime.Application.11.5" ch-CRapplication NO-ERROR. CREATE "CrystalRuntime.Report.11.5" ch-CRreport NO-ERROR. ch-CRreport = ch-CRapplication:OpenReport("c:\report\abc.rpt"). ch-CRreportrintOut(). RELEASE OBJECT ch-CRapplication NO-ERROR. I tried this code by seeing in the net.It http://www.progresstalk.com/threads/problem-in-connection-with-crystal-reports.110293/ shows print option and directly goes to the printer but the label I tried to show doesn't display.I also want to preview the report in progress application. And how to retrieve the ocx or dll name. Rachana, Apr 26, 2007 #1 Ads Master BONO Member Hello , you need to connect report to db before printout. Add this line with good information after then openreport. ch-CRreportatabase:Tables(1):SetLogOnInfo(pc-servername,pc-dbname,pc-userid,pc-password). All the parameters are the same than parameters needed to ODBC connection. For complex report with multiple DB you need to connect each subreport and each table of the report HTH BONO, Apr 26, 2007 #2 Rachana New Member After sending That mail, I immediately tried this code>> DEFINE VARIABLE CRComHdl AS COM-HANDLE NO-UNDO. PMHate to be a nuisance with so many postings but maybe resolution will also help others. Really I try to diligently research and figure things out before coming here as the last resort. OK, trying to register a Crystal Decisions runtime DLL (COM) using extracted COM reg data. Target is Win98 Rev. 1 with IE 5.0 and Y2k. ISX build log indicates: New Registry Entries (400) dynamically acquired for component craxdrt9.dll However, Visual FoxPro runtime application fails with error 'class definition for CrystalRuntime.Application not found.' Trip to the registry confirms lack of keys. Only entry is for the actual runtime DLL file location. A simple manual registration however works as a charm. regsvr32 /s C:\Progra~1\Common~1\Crysta~1\2.0\Bin\craxdrt9.dll According to the ISX help, extracted COM is the preferred registration method, so I'd like to get this working. Perplexing since no errors are reported during build with the acknowledgement of 400 successfully extracted registry entries. Unique situation with Win98? Also, is there a simple way to create a log file on the target machine for registry activity? Thanks for any help on this. Hopefully I can reciprocate in kind. V.Sokol09-20-2003, 01:00 PMI've given up with any new postings since mine are no longer being responded to. Anybody out there with a solution this unresolved problem (posted 09-02-03)? Chandima09-22-2003, 03:32 PMAre you sure you want to distribute this file independently instead of using the Crystal Reports 9 merge module? From personal experience I have learnt that distributing a technology set (preferably provided by the technology vendor) is better than distributing individual components. Examples would be MDAC, Jet and Crystal Reports 9. The "Extract COM Information" method is the reccomended of file registration. This is because Windows Installer supports something called "Advertised Installs". This is not possible without COM Extra
