Yesterday I faced an error message while trying to play a song in winamp. In the past I never experienced this type of error in winamp. Any problem in winamp, do I need to re-install? Whether it is asking for an update? Please make me clear. Thanks. Error creating DrirectSound buffer. Error code: 80070057, Error creating DirectSound buffer!! Ok first off, being that I know nothing about pc's, the only info on what DirectX version i could find was 4. Also, I have Winamp v2.9. Ok, I haven't had any problems with Winamp until now. I was playing a song and decided to mess http://www.techyv.com/questions/error-code-80070057-while-creating-directsound-buffer around with the visualizations options. I went to "select plugin", I then chose "Nullsoft Tiny Fullscreen 2001 (v2.04)(vis_nsfs.dll)" to see what it was. I then clicked on "Sexy Scrolling Voiceprint" to see what that does. It worked and I watched the visualization till the song ended, and BOOM. The error message pops up. "Error creating DirectSound buffer. Error code:80070057" No song will play now, when I try, I get that error http://forums.shoutcast.com/showthread.php?t=136898 message. I tried restarting to no avail. PLEASE HELP!! I don't know anything about pc's, I just got this one and am still learning. PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks! So will the visualizations work now, or should I not poke my nose in there again? And is there anything else you think I might need to change to prevent that error from happening again? I'm not sure if the culprit was doing a Windows7 update today (hadn't done one in about a month). After the reboot or shortly thereafter there now seems to be no sound coming from the speakers. When I did the individual sound test I did get the proper 'ding' test sound indicating that the sound is working. Playing Winamp I receive a "Error creating DirectSound buffer. Error code: 88780096" alert message. Windows Media Player/VLC/WM Classic all open and play properly without sound. I thought a culprit could perhaps be "HD VDeck" (this uses a SPDIF Interface) sound system enhancer ... the self tests here seem to indicate that a everything is performing properly. Maybe there's a wizard that knows the answer on this one ... thank you. 15.10.11 Windows7 Ultimate x64 6.1.7600 build 7600 PROCESSOR LEVEL: Intel i5 661@3.33GHz MOTHERBOARD: ASUS P7P55-M BIOS: American Megatrends Inc 0312, 13.11.09 RAM: 6Gb DDR3 GRAPHICS ACCELERATOR: EVGA/NVIDIA e-GeForce 6200LE 128Mb DDR HDDs: C: 350Gb-SATA; D: 2TB-SATA;
