Error Creating Effect Shadow Receive Directional Water
PMI am receiving the above error when I try and run RF G-4. I have followed the directions that were in the previous post and going to try and post my system info. Thanks for any help you guys can give me. Mike I am also at jasargue@yahoo.com if any one has suggestions. Maybe I don't need a new video card. I try to download new drivers but couldn't find where to go to.. jeffpn12-25-2007, 11:36 PMYou may have limited support on your graphic card, but your drivers are over two years old. Update your drivers, and see if that helps. Go to Intel's site if your pc mfr doesn't have updated drivers. opjose12-25-2007, 11:41 PMYou have an integrated chipset video card. These are sold to get computers out the door and represent the least a manufacturer can sell you while still claiming 3D compatibility. KE released a patch, but you'll need to upgrade to the latest version to get it... if you haven't alread done so. Do it, then update the drivers as indicated ( hint: Go to Intel's web site ) and try again. Then go out and get a better DX10 compatible graphics card. They can be had for reasonable prices nowadays. meximike12-26-2007, 12:43 AMokay. I tried downloading the drivers for chip set. I found 2 . The first one didnt work and my computer seemed fine. The second one didnt work and my icons etc. have gotten alot smaller. The second one also prompted me to restart my computer.. So now I have a new problem( the size of images on my screen ). I also looked for a patch. I assume KE is knife edge and looked there but no luck. I also looked at dell and intel... Still no luck... I have attached another system info that shows the change. I believe I need to get a new video card tommorrow..Any suggestions? Middle of the road in price.? Mike skubacb12-26-2007, 04:07 AMYou need to do an evaluation of your entire machine. If you are running XP you should have 2GB of memory. Have you defragged you hard drive. Do you have leftovers from all of your updates and installs. Have you optimized the registry, etc. etc. etc. BTW take a look at System Mechanice 7 or Avanquest Systemsuite 8 either of these can do all of these cleanup and optimizations. Stay away from Symantec/Norton. Bottom line is that if you want G4 to run well it is the entire computer system not just a video card. If your entire system is up to speed then and only then spend the mon

GeForce4 MX 440 won't be able to run even RealFlight G2 at any decent speeds, forget about G4! Too bad the motherboard has AGP slot and not the modern PCIe, as PCIe video cards are much cheaper and plentiful. Look at this thread: http://foru

Global illumination, or ‘GI’, is a term used to describe a range of techniques and mathematical models which attempt to simulate the complex behaviour of light as it bounces and interacts with the world. Simulating global illumination accurately is challenging and can be computationally expensive. Because of this, games use a range of approaches to handle these calculations beforehand, rather than during gameplay. The same scene: With no lighting (Left), with ‘direct light’ only (Center) & with indirect 'global illumination' (Right). Note how colors are transferred as light ‘bounces’ between surfaces, giving a much more realistic result. In this document we will give you an overview of how GI works in Unity. We will walk you through the different lighting techniques available, explain how to setup your project for lighting and then explore the various tools at your disposal when considering how to light a scene. Choosing a Lighting Technique Broadly speaking, lighting in Unity can be considered as either ‘realtime’ or ‘precomputed’ in some way and both techniques can be used in combination to create immersive scene lighting. In this section we will give a brief overview of what opportunities the different techniques offer, their relative advantages and individual performance characteristics. Realtime Lighting By default, lights in Unity - directional, spot and point, are realtime. This means that they contribute direct light to the scene and update every frame. As lights and GameObjects are moved within the scene, lighting will be updated
