Error Creating Message Service Mspst
Message Service (MSPST MS)" Discussion in 'Exchange Server Questions' started by Bianko, Oct 5, 2009. Previous Thread Next Thread Loading... 0/5, 0 votes Bianko Guest Hi at all! I have a problem migrating mailboxes from a Exchange Server 2003 Standard SP2 into PSTs.. The error code is the one in the subject. What I've already done: - Downloaded the last version of ExMerge - Configured a user with delgation of full control on exchange organizazion and with receive as and send as rights enabled - Copied the mapi32.dll from the new Exchange Server because I've read that if there's installed Outlook on the Exchange server a different version of mapi32.dll is installed (I've verified it and mapi32.dll of the old Exchange server with Outlook installed is different from the one on the new Exchange server.. Both SP2). So I've renamed the stub file and I've copied in the ExMerge folder the correct one. - I've tried to create some PSTs with mailmig.exe and it works!! I can't figure out this issue!! I hope you have some good suggest for me > .. I've read that to create PSTs ExMerge is a better choice than mailmig... Moreover mailmig creates password protected PSTs and I haven't found the hotfix to create PSTs without passwords... Thank you in advance! Bye PS: sorry for my english but I'm from Italy Oct 5, 2009 Flag Post #1 Share Bianko Guest Sorry the error is "CMapiSession::CreateEMSPSTProfile" not the one in the subject! On my test box I have hit some problems.Basically, the first issue I hit was related to not being able to open the PST file, which various docs suggested https://forums.slipstick.com/threads/24496-exmerge-error-error-creating-message-service-mspst-ms/ could be down to read only permissions on the PST file. There were no issues with permissions but I looked deeper into it and had a sudden thought that it might be down to the new PST format that Outlook 2003 uses. To test this hunch I made a small PST file in Outlook 97-2002 format and threw some mails in it.With this new PST file Exmerge got futher, it no longer reported:Error configuring message service (MSPST MS) http://forums.msexchange.org/Exmerge_problems%25%25%25/m_140040300/tm.htm (MAPI_E_EXTENDED_ERROR) (CMapiSession::CreateEMSPSTProfile)Which was the previous error with the Outlook 2003 format PST. But now it reported:Error opening message store (MSEMS). Verify that the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is running and that you have the correct permissions to log on. (0x8004011d)Which it is, and I do! I have created a security group which i am in that has send as and receive as permissions to all mailboxes. Has anybody else had problems with running Exmerge with Outlook 2003? Or, for that matter has anybody got any suggestions on where I should take this problem next?Regards,Jon. But, you should be aware that the default security settings DENY any member of the admin groups full access to mailboxes! This means you must either use another account without admin privileges (but with necessary full access) or modify the security settings to lift the default deny setting for admins. Deny settings always have precedence over allow settings, meaning that if any category with deny settings applies to you then
Stephen Coates Guest I am trying to export each Users EXCHANGE information using EXMERGE to .PST files as another level of BACK UP. I http://www.winvistatips.com/threads/exchange-export-to-pst-using-exmerge-fails.597391/ have followed the instructions for the utility but it fails to do the export as expected. The following items can be found in the .LOG '[10:56:31] Error configuring message service (MSPST MS) https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22046664/Error-configuring-message-service-MSPST-MS-UNKNOWN-ERROR-CMapiSession-CreateEMSPSTProfile.html (MAPI_E_EXTENDED_ERROR) (CMapiSession::CreateEMSPSTProfile) [10:56:31] Ending Routine: (CMapiSession::CreateEMSPSTProfile) [10:56:31] Errors encountered. Copy process aborted for mailbox 'Mary > Coates' ('MARY').' Administrator (or whatever account you're using to run ExMerge) needs to have permission to read the mailboxes. By default, in Exchange 2000 and 2003, Administrator does *not* have that right. There are some KB articles explaining what you have to do for Administrator to use ExMerge, but I don't have the #'s off-hand. -- Steve Foster [SBS MVP] --------------------------------------- MVPs do not work for Microsoft. Here are the steps I have taken already: Logged onto the Exchange server with the exmerge account I created (was able to successfully exmerge prior to today) Made sure the accounts were enabled and able to see in the Global Address List Verified that I am able to open the mailbox Also, since I was able to successfully exmerge, the exmerge account I created has the correct permissions for Send As and Receive As Any other thoughts on what could have changed, or what is missing?
