2004. Mike Vandemore Guest I have a VB6 application which integrates with Outlook Contacts in order to look up names and phone numbers. I am using Redemption with the MAPITable object to read the names http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/error-creating-outlook-application-redemption.1841158/ from Outlook Contacts. On most computers this works great. For some reason, or certain computers, I am unable to connect to Outlook because I get an error on creation of the object. The line of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/27168199/using-excel-vba-to-create-email-in-outlook-2010-from-template code is simply: Set objOutlookApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") (I have also tried: Set objOutlookApp = New Outlook.Application) And on the computers which this command fails, the error message is Error 48, "Error Loading DLL". It error creating does not appear to matter whether the computers are running Win2000 or XP or whether it's Outlook 2000 or 2003. These computers are up-to-date with service packs and otherwise run Outlook with out problem. I have done a number of GIS searches but I haven't found anything that led me to a solution. I would be grateful for any suggestions. Mike V. Mike Vandemore, Nov 19, 2004 #1 error creating outlook Advertisements Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook] Guest Do you have any anti-virus software running? Also, have you tried defining the location reference for where the Range("oftLocation").Value is coming from? Trying to determine how the user is defining that location... (I know stupid little things but thought it worth a shot before proceeding) –Chrismas007 Dec 1 '14 at 17:49 Maybe some more info about the error(s) might be in logs? ... sevenforums.com/tutorials/… –dee Dec 1 '14 at 19:37 I agree with Christmas007, define the variables as he mentions, ensure the cell "oftLocation" is correct in terms of content and format i.e. directory and file referenced correctly "C:\Test\Test.oft", then I would just try to have the item display MyOlItem.Display. If this isn't working what is the error message? –Shauno_88 Dec 2 '14 at 0:20 2 His code is sound and does work. Just tested with Outlook and Excel 2010.
