I changed in Properties / system to another value the http.port but still giving error. Can be any value? Any ideas? thanks 24-12-2013, 15:08 (This post was last modified: 24-12-2013 15:09 by simoncn.) Please try rebooting the computer to see if this clears the problem. 30-12-2013, 18:24 (This post was last modified: 30-12-2013 18:28 by Fluxardo.) [/quote] Yes, thanks, that is the question: minimserver starts to boot but not reported as an asset or so Leia no appears in the two instances, I manually start and gives the error. Why do not properly start at the beginning? When I minimserver / bin / setup answers: "MinimServer desktop integration is not available". I'm on Ubuntu 13.10. I manually start it and is not problem for me but i am curious to know why,Thanks 02-01-2014, 22:12 Post: #4 simoncn MinimServer author Posts: 7,947 Joined: Dec 2011 Reputation: 18 RE: HTTPService: error creating server socket (30-12-2013 18:24)Fluxardo Wrote: Yes, thanks, that is the question:

that a socket-based server application can listen for connections on a TCP/IP port.Note: Does not apply to SpeedScript programming.SyntaxCREATE SERVER-SOCKET handle[ NO-ERROR ]handleVariable of type HANDLE into which the CREATE SERVER-SOCKET statement stores the new server socket http://documentation.progress.com/output/ua/OpenEdge_latest/dvref/create-server-socket-statement.html handle.NO-ERRORSuppresses ABL errors or error messages that would otherwise occur and diverts them to http://www.speedguide.net/forums/showthread.php?68117-Error-creating-Socket-!!!! the ERROR-STATUS system handle. If an error occurs, the action of the statement is not done and execution continues with the next statement. If the statement fails, any persistent side-effects of the statement are backed out. If the statement includes an expression that contains other executable elements, like methods, the work performed by these error creating elements may or may not be done, depending on the order the AVM resolves the expression elements and the occurrence of the error. To check for errors after a statement that uses the NO-ERROR option:Check the ERROR-STATUS:ERROR attribute to see if the AVM raised the ERROR condition.Check if the ERROR-STATUS:NUM-MESSAGES attribute is greater than zero to see if the AVM generated error messages. ABL handle methods used in a error creating server block without a CATCH end block treat errors as warnings and do not raise ERROR, do not set the ERROR-STATUS:ERROR attribute, but do add messages to the ERROR-STATUS system handle. Therefore, this test is the better test for code using handle methods without CATCH end blocks. ABL handle methods used in a block with a CATCH end block raise ERROR and add messages to the error object generated by the AVM. In this case, the AVM does not update the ERROR-STATUS system handle.Use ERROR-STATUS:GET-MESSAGE( message-num ) to retrieve a particular message, where message-num is 1 for the first message. If the statement does not include the NO-ERROR option, you can use a CATCH end block to handle errors raised by the statement. Some other important usage notes on the NO-ERROR option:NO-ERROR does not suppress errors that raise the STOP or QUIT condition.A CATCH statement, which introduces a CATCH end block, is analogous to a NO-ERROR option in that it also suppresses errors, but it does so for an entire block of code. It is different in that the error messages are contained in a class-based error object (generated by the AVM or explicitly thrown), as opposed to the ERROR-STATUS system handle. Also, if errors rai

This is a question for all of the networking experts here - I have tried everything I know and am completely out of ideas. My office computer ( ASUS mobo P-III 750 MHz 256 MByte RAM running Win98SE ) used to access the internet over our company DSL connection through a simple 8-port router. It wasn't wonderful performance but it worled. Last May we moved into another building, where we couldn't get DSL or Cable BB, so I didn't notice any problems at first ( having no internet access ). We eventually set up one computer as a gateway with a dial-up modem, and a Linksys switch. Suddenly I found I couldn't access the net - various network utility software is giving error messages that Windows can't create a
