Comment 2 :Gijs Kruitbosch 2015-08-18 01:12:52 PDT Can you please provide the full error message? Did it ever work on Windows 10? Have you checked that this isn't a firewall blocking chatzilla after an application update? Comment 3 Tom Goodman 2015-10-24 14:44:47 PDT Yes, it has worked on Windows 10. Yes, it fails both when windows firewall is on and when windows firewall is off. The full error message appears in the ChatZilla window: [INFO] Attempting to connect to "irc.tmro.tv". Use /cancel to abort. [INFO] Connecting to irc://irc.tmro.tv/ (irc://irc.tmro.tv/)... [Cancel] [ERROR] Error creating socket. August 30, 2006 09:41 PM (GMT) I'm trying to use ChatZilla through a SOCKS 5 proxy server (my Tor server). I was able to get this working without FoxyProxy by configuring Firefox http://z9.invisionfree.com/foxyproxy/ar/t153.htm to use my SOCKS 5 server. However, when I enable FoxyProxy, I get an error when connecting to a server with ChatZilla:Error determining proxy for %Sirc://...The FoxyProxy log shows the appropriate URL and the appropriate proxy. This error occurs whether the proxy is matched using a URL pattern or if FoxyProxy is configured to use a specific proxy for all requests. Can anyone help? Is error creating this a configuration problem on my side or a bug in FoxyProxy? Eric H. Jung - August 30, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT) Hi,I'll have to do some testing against Chatzilla. I imagine they implement their own protocol handler (for irc:// URIs) so this could be an issue. Is the error you get with FoxyProxy the same one you get without it (when you can't get error creating socket through the firewall), or is that simply a "can't connect" error in CZ? Eric H. Jung - August 31, 2006 05:27 AM (GMT) OK, I examined the Chatzilla source code and also did a bunch of testing. FoxyProxy works just fine with Chatzilla in all of my tests and based upon my source code review. Question: are you able to get to any website with your proxy and FoxyProxy turned on? What are you using to confirm your proxy is working? carini - August 31, 2006 05:41 AM (GMT) The error I get with FoxyProxy from CZ is "error creating socket" or some such. I have CZ configured with the Proxy Type blank for the IRC server.I have no problems using FoxyProxy with other websites. I also had no problem from CZ when I disabled FoxyProxy and configured Firefox itself to use my SOCKS proxy (and only the SOCKS proxy). For that test, I enabled network.proxy.socks_remote_dns.I'm trying to use FoxyProxy to get to a *.onion Tor hidden IRC service. I tried with FoxyProxy talking directly to the Tor SOCKS proxy and also with FoxyProxy through Privoxy to the Tor SOCKS proxy. The e
