With the aid of our SharePoint guys I have put together a SharePoint 2007environment for testing a proposed DPM 2010 rollout. The environment consists of 2 web front end servers, a sql server and an app server. When I create a protection group for the Farm, SPSearch and SSP, the Farm and Search replicas seem to be created but I am getting the following error for the SSP.. Type:Replica creation Status:Failed Description:An unexpected error occurred while the job was running. The account I used for executing ConfigureSharePoint.exe -EnableSharePointProtection and ConfigureSharePoint.exe -EnableSPSearchProtection is a Farm Admin and has local admin rights on all 4 SharePoint boxes. 0A14131410/2215:04:38.69431wsscmdletswrapperfactory.cpp(235)ACTIVITYPrincipal name HOST/SHAREPOINTFE1.xyz.com@xyz.com 0A14106010/2215:04:47.27
2010, Troubleshooting | It's not often these days I come across what seems to be a new Project Server 2010 error! Having said that, I would expect the same error to occur on either 2007 or 2013 as it relates to AD sync. Anyway while working with a customer recently I came across the following issue that had started occurring for all new projects being created as well as on any attempt to synchronize the site permissions from Server Settings - https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1e0f3867-471f-4508-b778-2542eb9453f4/error-creating-initial-replica-for-ssp?forum=dpmsharepointbackup Project Sites. The effect of the error was that users cannot access any of the affected sites. Notably though the AD sync was not experiencing any errors. warrenspier001 When trying to create a Generic Incident on the SSP the following error https://scsmgem.wordpress.com/2012/10/17/error-creating-tickets-on-the-ssp-and-mandatory-fields/ appears: A mandatory field on the Incident form was not populated in the template attached to the corresponding generic request offering. Annoying thing is that http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/86931/sharepoint-2007-x64-upgrade-events-3759-and-5586-when-creating-the-ssp it lets you get right to the end and provides a less than useful error message to the user. I have a test environment that I'm attempting to upgrade from x86 to x64. I've completed the following steps: Created the x64 SharePoint server, and added it to the farm. Upgraded and moved databases to new x64 bit server. Moved Central Administration to new x64 bit server. At this point everything is working and looks great. The farm still contains the 32-bit front end server. I am now trying to create a new SSP so that I can move the SSP to the new front end server. However, when I try to create a new placeholder SSP, I get an unknown error and the following errors are thrown into the event log: Event 3759: Database 'my configuration database' on SQL Server instance 'alias pointing to my x64 server' is not empty and does not match current database schema.
