Cause This sample scenario results in an EJBDeploymentException: Create EJB Projects in WASD 5.1 Add Session Beans, Message Driven Beans, Entity Beans to the EJB Projects Build, Deploy, Test -> it is successful Install RAD 6.0 Create J2EE 1.3/EJB 2.0 EJB Project in RAD 6.0 Import code base from SCM (checked in from WSAD 5.1) Migrate the code to J2EE 1.4/EJB 2.1 Clean, Build Attempt to Deploy. . . "Deploy" fails with following error while trying to create a top-down mapping, but the mapping file has already been generated in WASD 5.1 and imported to RAD 6.0 and the migration wizard was executed. EXCEPTION: . . . Deployment from com.ibm.etools.ejbdeploy.EJBDeployer had errors: Error creating top-down schema & map: null. com.ibm.etools.ejbdeploy.EJBDeploymentException: Error creating top-down schema & map: null. . . . Resolving the problem To avoid getting the deployment exception, set the default database in: Window > Preferences > Data : {the default database (DB) to be used} Also, since a CMP EJB Project can have multiple vendor DB backend mappings, add the setting in the EJB Deployment Descriptor Editor > Overview Tab : WebSphere Bindings : Backend Id : {specific DB backend to be used for Deploy}. Symptom While running Prepare for deployment in Rational Application Developer 7.5.3 the following error message is displayed. Error creating top-down schema & map: org.eclipse.emf.ecore.xmi.ClassNotFoundExc eption: Class 'ZSeriesColumn' not found. (platform:/resource/EntityTest/ejbModul e/META-INF/backends/DB2UDBOS390_NEWFN_V8_1/SAMPLE.dbm, 7, 109). Cause The cause is related to changes done in the zSeries database model in the data http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21440244 tools component of Rational Application Developer. From Rational Application Developer v7.5.5, in the .dbm [database model] file, a zSeries database's column is denoted by the entry 'zSeriesColumn' . This entry is subclassed from DB2column. However, in older versions -like Rational Application Developer v7.5.3 data tools only have DB2Column and it will accept entries of only 'DB2Column' even if it is for a Zseries database model. As a result, if you create EJBs [having backend folder targeted to DB2 zSeries database] in Rational Application Developer v7.5.5 and higher versions and deploy the same using Rational Application Developer v7.5.3, it will fail as "zSeriesColumn" is not recognizable in Rational Application Developer v7.5.3. Environment Rational Application Developer v7.5.5 and higher versions, Rational Application Developer v7.5.3 Resolving the problem The issue being a backward migration problem, the fix cannot be included in the future Rational Application Developer releases. There are two solutions possible: a) Upgrade all your Rational Application Developer installations to at leas

SO i suppose http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33869013/mongoosastic-error-no-living-connections-message-no-living-connections no code changes have to be made, except the application client must get a different InitialContext. I used AAT, built my .ear file, my error creating .jar file with the interfaces + bean impl class and an application client .jar with the interfaces and the client itself. Then I tried to generate the deployment code. I let the schema name empty. What is meant with schema in that matter ?
