Error Found Printing Document Usb001
There are 3 computers connected together via a DSL router / 4 port switch in a 'workgroup' arrangement all running at 100M/bit. 2 of the usb001 error canon printer computers are running windows 2000 and the Laptop running Windows XP home. We printer canon ip2770 error usb001 have a HP 930c Ink jet printer and One of the Windows 2000 machines acting as a print server. Periodically when a family member goes to print over the network, either from the Other win2000 machine or the Laptop running Windows XP home, the following message will frequently appear on the Print Server workstation. http://alpinedragon.orcon.net.nz/other/public/pub_images/Error.jpg "There was an error found when printing the document to USB001 Do You you want to retry or cancel the job" This message will repeatedly keep appearing and disappearing every few seconds until the job is canceled. The message can start appearing anytime, during printing, even in the middle of printing, when it does, the printing stops midway on the page. However if the problem is to occur it mostly happens straight away when someone tries to start printing and further attempts at trying to print (over the network) will fail until I reboot the workstation acting as the print server. However, If I try and print from said workstation (one acting as the print server), there is usually no problems at all. So it appears it may be a network related issue or a issue relating to the Workstation machines sending out the print jobs. I made a search for this message, and there were apparently a lot of discussion about it on various forums and newsgroups, but so far had no luck in trying to resolve this. All computers have been fully patched, The 2 windows 2000 machines have SP4 and have the latest critical updates applied. The windows XP home machine has been updated with SP2 and that too has had the latest critical updates applied. I've install the latest drivers (HP's latest for the printer dating back to 2001 admittedly) for this printer on the Print server workstation, and this has not resolved the problem. Then the "1" just disappears & nothing is printed! The printer makes no noise as if it has even attempted to print. If I take the USB cable out of the back of the printer & then put it back in, the printer makes all the normal "printer" noises. If I take the USB cable out of the back of the PC & stick it in a differnt USB port (there are 2), then it re- installs the printer....under USB003 (but I only have 2 USB holes on the back of my PC!). Then when I try to print, the jobs go to the printer software & it displays that there is 1 document being printed/about to be printed. This time the jobs do not disappear - the status says "printing"....then I get an error message: "There was an error found when printing the document "driver" to USB003. Do you want to retry or cancel the job?".... I try printing a different document & the same thing happens...I right click on the printer & go to properties & change the USB to a different port....same thing happens. I have checked the USB cables which are fine. I have also tried using my old printer, it works fine in any USB port at the back of my PC, but when I right click on the printer icon & change the port, the following happens: USB001 - I get the same error above USB002 - prints fine USB003 - trys to print but does not (no error message) I would guess from this that there is some sort of problem with USB001 & USB003? (below is what happens with the new printer) USB001 - I get the same error above USB002 - sends job to printer which then disappears with no error message & no movement from printer USB003 - I get the same error above - Could I have installed something wrong? - I have tried removing the printers (by right clicking on them & deleting) & then re-installing - I have tried re-installing without changing the drivers & also by changing the drivers (using the disc provided & also using a downloaded driver). 9hrs of grrrrrr! Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Cheers USB printer problem Responses to "USB printer problem" Carley Jim Macklin Guest Posts: n/a Re: USB printer problem
