2009, 1:43 pm Was notified this morinng that the R7 patch was available, but all attempts to install it (including manually) failed. Reviewing the update.log file, it appears that the patch was sucessful for all http://www.beansmart.com/quicken/quicken-deluxe-update-r7-fail-19453-.htm files except one called convert_stub.dat. The error message is: RTPatch error ept0036: Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. That log file dates all the way back to 2003. How do I know that the Release 7 update log refers to Release 7 for version 9? At the very bottom of the log file it says log closed 2004. I see no mention of todays date. I found one of the reasons for a failure is if Quicken is installed in the C:/ drive and not in Program files. Mine did install on the root directo

"The connection with the update server has failed" AVG 8 free, XP, firewall on or off, spybot resident on or off. Previously had AVG 7.5 free with no trouble to update automatically regularly. Allowed 8 free to do the uninstall of 7.5 Have since uninstalled/ repaired a few times but still the update refuses to work Update server shown as http://guru.avg.com/softw/80free/update/ Downloaded updates to disk then updated from there. Ashampoo is the better of the two you listed so that is what I'd suggest you use unless you don't like it for some reason. Also, when enabling/disabling a firewall always follow that with a reboot or in some cases your action will not be "active". Also verify your firewall permissions as stated in this http://free.avg.com/ww.faq.num-1334. The following will help with routing table issues... 1. Turn off the computer. 2. Turn off any router or hub that your computer may be plugged into. 3. Turn off the cable/dsl modem. 4. Wait for a couple of minutes. 5. Turn on the cable/dsl modem. 6.
